Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween - DAY 30

Today I'm upcycling one of my own pieces of art! Last year I tried Acrylic pour canvas painting. This is one of my pieces, a 6x6' stretched canvas for Halloween. Nice, but boring...

I reached into my bag of Halloween tricks and pulled out a plastic skeleton (I bought so many of these throughout the year that I haven't had to purchase any in forever). Using his lower legs and a larger one from another bag, I formed the latter "B"., brushing it with white paint before adhering it with hot glue.

A couple black silk leaves and white felt flowers formed the letter "O" twice, and now my artwork has a title, "BOO". I added a few die-cut leaves and a small wooden gravestone to finish off my project. I hope I didn't overload the canvas, but I am NOT a fan of "white space". It's difficult for me to stop when it comes to embellishments. I hope you've enjoyed the 31 Days of Halloween here at 'Patacake's Pages. I have one more day to entertain you with my imagination and creativity this spooky season. See you tomorrow.

31 Days of All Hallows eve - Day 23 - Jack Skellington Ornament

Today I made a hanging ornament featuring Jack Skellington, star of the Disney animated movie, Nightmare before Christmas by Tim Burton.

I was lucky to find a chalk ornament during Hobby Lobby's winter clearance. I thought the black chalk background would be perfect for Jack for this year's Halloween crafting. I drew the facial features with white colored pencil, then added my paint using Posca markers. There are plenty of line drawings of the movie's characters on Google free clipart.

I am running out of room in my house to hang Halloween artwork and crafts, but found the perfect spot. It's a wall in my hallway where I had put a wall sticker scene, then attached screw to hand my purse or jacket onto. It seems to make a spooky background for my ornaments as well!

Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion

Today starts a new challenge at Craft Your Passion, where it's always Anything Goes. This week's sponsor is Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
My card showcases a digital delight called Karate Kevin. He reminds me of when my son took karate classes. He was in Kindergarten, but did so well that the instructor bumped him up to the next level, where he was the youngest student (and the shortest). When the class practiced moves from one side of the gym to another, the other students had to wait quite a while for Chase's shorter legs to catch up to them before they worked their way back to the starting point.
I stuck my hand in my stash and pulled out an envie of Asian ephemera and had my way with it all on my card. A couple rows of pearls, part of a ribbon and my ticket sentiment complete my card.
The Craft Your Passion challenge lasts through the end of the week, so don't forget to link up your Anything Goes card or project for your chance to win prizes this week! And as always, crafters, have fun!
