Fairy Magic at the 12 Months of Christmas Challenge Blog

Christmas is a magical time, so what says magic more than fairies? The optional twist for this month's challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas is Fairy Magic. The DT got to play with images from A Day for Daisies. There are the most gorgeous images at the store, including this one called "Talking to the Moon Fairy."
I tried something new today. I placed my image onto my digital paper and printed it so that it was one single layer.I still got to color the image with Copics. I popped up my "scene" with dimensional tape, using some leftover lace for a border. Then I plundered my stash of jewels and pearls to hang off  my moon. Funny thing about my patterned paper: I used Decosse's Dynamite Doodle's Blue pp from "A Touch of Frost paper kit, but my printer chose that exact moment to run out of ink. It's supposed to be ALL blue, but you know what, I kind of like that "fade into purple" look, don't you? LOL
As for the challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas blog, remember that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month nor for a chance to win an $8 gift certificate to the A Day for Daisies store.
You simply need to follow the twist if you'd like a chance to win this month's featured digital paper pack, Frolicking Fairies: Winter Edition from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
All you have to win these awesome prizes is to remember to link up your card to the main blog!! So have fun and good luck!

Challenges I am Entering:
Winter Wonderland - Cute Christmas
Fab & Funky - Fantasy
ABC Christmas - H for Hang it up or I for Intricate
(I chose the Moon hanging in the night sky)
Merry Little Christmas - Anything Christmas Goes

Happiness Has Four Legs on the Path of Positivity

Welcome to another challenge at the Path of Positivity, where it's always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist. This month the Twist is Happiness. Make someone happy by creating something for them, then link it up to the main challenge blog.
I created this card using an image and a paper from one of the guest sponsors, Scribbles Designs
The digi image is called #F31 Dog Bone, and the digi paper is called SDD Woof 1 Patterned Paper. I printed my sentiment in Tall Marker font, adding the 2 dog bones before cutting and printing it twice. I printed out the digi paper as well as a cute digital wood frame from Pixel Scrapper Sheila Reid. Putting it together was like building a Jenga tower, starting with the background paper, the frame, the sentiment, then adding dimensional tape and adding another layer of sentiment and frame. I embellished simply with some square-shaped jewels in the corners of my frame and my card is finished.

At the Path of Positivity challenge blog, all projects are required to be positive in nature. Anything encouraging, affirmative or inspiring qualifies for prizes from Scribbles Designs and the second guest sponsor, Limited Runs.

Using Die-Cuts at Ike's World Challenge Blog

Hallo, mein Lieblings! I don't know if you've noticed that lately I've been creating some cards in German. My sister lives in Berlin with her husband and I thought it would be nice if she had some handmade cards to give to her new friends and neighbors.
That's why I created this children's birthday card using a digi image from Ike's Art Store called Teddy Bear from the Germany - World Tour Series Set. After coloring Sigmund (my name for him, nicknamed Ziggy) with Copics, I adhered him onto my card with dimensional tape, framing him with a die-cut circle of stars. In the corner I placed a die-cut tag on which I popped a flower. I also used a couple punches to get my heart and butterfly embellishments. Behind the watermark are the words  "Alles gute zum Geburtstag" which loosely translated mean Happy Birthday!!
Since this is my DT make for Ike's Art World Challenge Blog, you've probably guessed that the optional theme this month is DIE-CUTS. I think I have enough of them, don't you? LOL
I'm taking German classes at the local community college, and am now in German 102. We're spending almost the entire semester on present participle and simple past tense (both ways to say you did something). If you want a quick and easy language to learn, do NOT take German. LOL It is difficult and I have had to tell the professor when I enter the classroom that "Ich habe ein kopfschmerzen" many times (I have a headache!).
Back to the challenge: It's Anything Goes with the option to create with Die-cuts. It doesn't have to be cards but any kind of project. So poke your Muse and get crafty. The winner gets a gift certificate to Ike's Art Store!! Just don't forget to link up your project there before the end of the month!
Have fun and happy crafting!

Pave your Path with Happiness

This month's challenge at the Path of Positivity has the optional Twist of Happiness. Make someone smile or laugh; create a card to remind them they are special; send your mom a handcrafted layout of the two of you enjoying life together. In other words, make someone HAPPY!
My card asks for the best thing a person can give or receive that will spread happiness - a HUG. Of course, I had to put a Twist on my card by using a Cactus asking for a hug, but sometimes it can be difficult to hug a grumpy person. Give them two; they must need them!!
Of course, the Twist is just for fun. As long as your project is positive, encouraging or inspirational, it will qualify for prizes (see below).
I used a digi image from Limited Runs, one of the guest sponsors at the Path of Positivity this month.
The image is aptly named "Cactus" and can be found in the Flower section of the STORE.  Limited Runs is also on Facebook with a Freebie for every 50 Followers, AND also a Monthly Progressive Challenge Blog.
    Prizes this month include:

  • A $10 gift certificate from Limited Runs, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designsfor the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
  • Don't forget to link up your project!!

  • It's a well-documented fact that everyone needs at least five hugs a day to stay happy. So don't be surprised if, when we meet on the Path, I stop to give you a HUG. Everyone can stand to add a little happiness to their lives, and the lives of others. See you there!

    Challenges I am Entering:
Make My Monday - Something Humorous
Not Just Cards - Anything Goes
    Creative Crafters - Anything Goes

Food for Thought at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

Here's some food for thought: the optional theme at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog is "For the Foodie in You." Got some yummy images to color up? Maybe some delicious papers or embellishments? The challenge runs until the 14th of the month so create and link up your projects for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Designs Store.

Speaking of the Store, my Scribbles images are Tea Cup Stack found HERE and Tea found HERE. After printing my images, I colored them with Copics, framing the cup stack with black cardstock and adhering it onto some leftover DCWV paper. I fussy-cut the Tea bag so I could "hang it" over the frame. My designer paper is so busy I decided to embellish with a simple baby blue bow.

    Challenges I am Entering:
Classic Design DT Open - Anything DT Goes
    Craft-Dee Bowz - ANything w/handmade Bow Goes
    DigiDoodle Studios - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Oddball Art Stamps - Anything Goes
The Creative Crafters - Anything Goes
World Wide Open DT - Anything DT Goes

All Dressed Up at Your Scrapbook Place

A new month brings a new challenge at Your Scrapbook Place. The theme is always Anything Goes, and this month the guest sponsor is All Dressed Up. I used a digi image called Time to Celebrate. I think the sentiment is perfect, don't you? BTW, if you get a chance, try some Barefoot Bubbly. My fave cheap champagne to serve at girls' day in. Yum!
My card is filled with die-cuts and jewels. I found a baggie with them in it, as well as the gold and black paper, and ran with it. How about you? Do you have any mystery bags in your craft area? I'm doing a clean-out (again) and am finding all kinds of goodies. You never know what you might have forgotten...
Meanwhile, you have all month to create and link up your project at Your Scrapbook Place for your chance to win prizes from the Guest sponsor, All Dressed Up.
