Somewhere Over the Rainbow at Ike's World Challenge Blog

One more week before the challenge over at Ike's World Challenge Blog ends. It's always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist. This month the Twist is Over the Rainbow. I used an image from Ike's Art called Shhh! on one of my watercolors that I printed out on glossy cardstock.
My sentiment is difficult to read. It is:
"I can only eat Glitter and Rainbows. Darn my sensitive stomach."
Her hair is colored with a mi of Copics, pencils and metallic gel pens. and yes, the bird is part of the card. LOL I snagged 4 of these cute tiny bluebirds from an antique store for a quarter each. Great deal!
You have until Sunday night to link up your project (anything goes) for your chance to win free digis from Ike's Art store. Good luck and happy crafting!!

Birth of New Beginnings at the Path of Positivity

Welcome to the midway point of March's challenge at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. The challenges have changed to Anything Goes, but an optional theme is also offered. The optional theme this month is the Birth of New Beginnings.
Graduation is the birth of new beginnings for students on their way to careers for which they've studied for the last four to eight years. It's also the beginning of a different kind of parenting as their child matures, moves away, marries and has kids of his or her own. Or chooses one of many other paths. Graduation isn't the end of anything, especially learning.
I created this scrapbook page for my best friend, whom I coincidentally met while in college myself. Our kids grew up together, our families went on road trips together, and I even have a video somewhere of the two of them dressing up and saying they were getting married. She doesn't scrapbook, so when he graduated with honors from one of the most prestigious universities in Chicagoland, I had to preserve that memory for him and for her!
So, the challenge has two sponsors, Limited Runs
and Kitten Scraps
I used several papers and elements from Kitten Scraps:
Graduation Day Clipart #4,5,7,8,9
 Winter's Playground Paper Add-On Patterned Paper 67
November Thank You Boy Paper 2
Sunny Fish Fun Raffia 13
Now on to the good stuff!
SPONSOR & PRIZE INFORMATION:
  • A $20.00 gift certificate from Kitten Scraps, one of our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch. In order to have a chance to win this prize, be sure to explore this idea of the Birth of New Beginnings.*
  • A $10.00 gift certificate from Limited Runs, one of our guest sponsors this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants. You need only create a project that is positive or uplifting.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
*If you do follow the optional theme: be sure to add FT after your name and leave a comment to let us know how your project relates to the theme if it's not easily apparent.

An Angelic Celebration of Christmas

My card today is my DT make for the 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up Blog. I decided to go with non-traditional colors, and the pink goes so well with A Day for Daisies'  Lucky Wishes image.
Can you believe how fast this year is passing? It's already the middle of March, and the start of Spring officially starts in less than a week. Although I think Mother Nature has been skipping her meds with the goofy weather we've been having in Chicago this winter (not that I'm complaining).
What she needs is an angel looking over her shoulder to help her sort seasons out. Which is quite a coincidence, considering that the 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up Challenge Blog is offering an optional theme this month:
Christmas Angels
Angels are an important part of Christmas. Many Christmas trees feature angels. attired in flowing gowns. Traditionally, it is the last ornament placed at the very top of the tree. The Christmas story is filled with angels bringing messages. So, the angel deserves a special place of honor during the holiday season, and we would love to see some of those beautiful angels on your cards. Of course, every month's challenge is ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES, but in order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that your card has an angel featured prominently on it in some form or other. And if you do, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize!
This month's sponsor is A Day for Daisies

http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.ca/
  • Prize being offered: One free digital paper to everyone who links up a minimum of two cards to the challenge.  Cards can be anything goes for this prize, they only have to follow the theme if they want a chance at the sponsor's prize.
  • The entire mini set of six digital papers called An Angelic Nature, will also be offered up as a prize to one random winner.

Birds of a Feather Stick Together at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

Welcome to a new challenge at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog!
This month's theme is Birds of a Feather. I used one of my favorite Scribbles images. It's called Farrah Flamingo. And since St. Paddy's Day is just two days away, I decided to create a card for the holiday. Farrah, ever fashion-forward, wishes everyone a happy St. Patrick's Day, even if green just isn't her color.
My sentiment was inspired by a recent St.Paddy's Day when I found myself without a Kelly green shirt to wear to work. I had to run to Walmart and buy one! I didn't have the self-confidence that Farrah has to brazen it out in pink instead of green that day.
Here's what went into my card:
Scribbles Designs' Images: Farrah Flamingo, Shamrock, Leprechaun Hat
Font:  Celtic Hand
Paper": Patacake's Pages (that's me).

Now onto the challenge. Create with birds in mind, whether you choose them in your image, your paper or your embellishments. Then link up with Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digis from the store.
Now I have a freebie for you. I created Lucky Sunburst patterned paper from resources that include Scribbles' Designs' Shamrock & Pixel Scrapper Sheila Reid's Sunburst 3 Template. Just click on it to bring up the original size and then right-click to save. See you at Scribbles Challenge Blog!!

Another Card with Sandra Caldwell for Your Scrapbook Place

Just a creative reminder that Your Scrapbook Place has an Anything Goes challenge this month. Sandra Caldwell is the guest sponsor and I used this free image from her Facebook page. I love tearing paper, and it's a good way to use up leftover pieces of patterned papers. I covered my torn-paper background with my Copic-colored image, framing it twice with cardstock. A simple bow and a sentiment finish off my card.
You have until the end of the month to create and link ANYTHING at Your Scrapbook Place for your chance to win!

Getting Sentimental at Ike's World Challenges

Ike's World Challenge blog has reached the midway point of their newest challenge. It's ANYTHING GOES, of course, with an optional twist to
Make a Sentiment your focal point.
Since there is quite a bit of Irish in my ancestry, I decided to make a St. Paddy's Day card. I created my project using a sentiment from Ike's Art called Shamrock Stamp. After printing it out, I popped it onto a patterned paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Bokeh Paper Kit. I added "a wee bit o' Irish lace" (okay, it's actually from a paper lace die-cut, poetic license) before placing my sentiment onto some glittery paper. A bow finishes off my card.
Do you have a favorite sentiment? Create something with it and share it at Ike's World Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift certificate to Ike's Store!

Another Month, Another Trip Down the Path of Positivity

Good afternoon, crafters! Time for a new challenge at the Path of Positivity, where it's always ANYTHING GOES. This month's OPTIONAL theme is "the Birth of New Beginnings." Spring is right around the corner, which reminds us of the birth of flowers and baby animals. New beginnings can also mean creating a card for a new baby, a new home, a new job, even a new YOU.
When I think of New Beginnings, I think that every day is a new beginning. Now sometimes I wake up to a Bad Hair day. Sometimes it's a challenging day. Whatever I face as I get out of bed, shower and get dressed, I start each day with CHOCOLATE.
"Coffee makes it possible to get out of bed.
Chocolate makes it worthwhile."
~Author Unknown
I am not a coffee person (gasp) and I like my tea iced, so a mug of hot chocolate, especially in the winter, is a sweet way to begin a new day, which is what inspired me to create the card above. I used Mini Bird with Coffee Cups Set  (hot chocolate cup) from Limited Runs.
Limited Runs is one of two sponsors this month, the other being Kitten Scraps.
 http://www.kittenscraps.com/store/
In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of a $10 gift certificate from Limited Runs. If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize for Most Inspirational.
Prizes Offered:
  • A $20.00 gift certificate from Kitten Scraps, one of our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch.
  • A $10.00 gift certificate from Limited Runs, one of our guest sponsors this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

I'm looking forward to seeing your art at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog this month.

It's Still Cold at Scribbles Challenge Blog

Today is the MIDPOINT of the BABY IT'S COLD OUT THERE challenge at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. I created a card using Scribbles' Snow Kisses. I love the snowmen and penguin characters that Sandy has created for her store.
I also love the color teal, which is featured on my card by the light teal glitter paper, ric rac paper and my Copic coloring. The patterned paper is from a new paper kit from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. The set is called Angelic Nature.
I finished off my card with some glittery alphas to spell out Brrr (which happens to be the penguin's trade name if you go to Scribbles Designs). A spray of silver and a snowflake bow dipped in glitter and my card looks, well, like winter! ...which Chicago has returned to, after enjoying an unseasonable week of T-shirt weather.
This challenge runs through the 14th of March, so pull out your winter embellishments and come join the fun at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

A Purr-fectly Lovely Challenge at Your Scrapbook Place

Good morning, crafters! I had to "paws" in my very busy life to do some extra crafting for one of my favorite challenge blogs, Your Scrapbook Place. This month's challenge is sponsored by one of my favorite artists, Sandra Caldwell.
I created my card using Sandra's "Kitty Ride", coloring the little guys with Copics. I decided to craft an open card face.
It makes a "fur-bulous" presentation when open. Not only does the inner cardstock feature my sentiment, but it has room for some personal writing AND a cute kitty-themed sticker.
Now it's your turn to create and link up your ANYTHING GOES creation with Your Scrapbook Place Challenge Blog this month. And don't forget to check out Sandra Caldwell's Facebook Page, where she offers challenges and freebies.
See you there!
