Sweet Christmas at 12 Months of Christmas Challenge Blog

Everyone has a sweet tooth, and the 12 months of Christmas blog is catering to that by offering the optional theme of CUPCAKES this month! I was inspired to create cupcake toppers using a digi image called Santa Head from Limited Runs, our guest sponsor for December.
After baking the cupcakes and piping on frosting, I colored and printed my Santa Heads, printing half of them as mirror images. That way you can see the same happy face from the front and back. I used a toothpick covered by a holiday-striped straw to hold my Santa Head toppers in place. For variety, i added some jingle bells onto extra cupcakes.
I would have put put a cupcake for Santa this year, but they have mysteriously disappeared! Oh well, that's what happens when you bake for the holidays a little too early!

For my DT make, I needed to create a card, so I used a photo of my holiday-inspired sweets and came up with this:
I framed the photo with Pink glitter paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' Glitterati1 Paper Kit and used dimensional dots before adding it to my card base. The base uses patterned paper from a new paper kit from Decosse called Sweet Confections 1: Cupcakes, backed by another Decosse paper from her A Grungy Christmas Paper Kit.

Everyone who links up a minimum of two cards to the challenge blog during the month of December will earn ONE of the digital papers from this set. The specific paper up for grabs will be shown during the winner announcement post. One random winner will earn the full set of papers.

Have your say in determining which paper will be offered to those who link up a minimum of two cards this month by completing the poll offered at the challenge blog.

Remember, CUPCAKES is an OPTIONAL theme, but in order to have a chance to win the prize from our guest sponsor, be sure to have a cupcake of some nature on your cardIt can be the image itself or in the paper(s) you use but it must be featured prominently. If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

You don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $10.00 gift certificate from Limited Runs.

Scribbles Designs Leads the Way to the North Pole

It's time to set your GPS for the North Pole, crafters! Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog offers an optional theme of "Welcome to the North Pole." Your creations for this challenge should include an element that might be found in the North Pole, like elves, Santa, Mrs Claus, presents, toys, images that have a sign for the North Pole in them, penguins, reindeer, polar bears, etc.
I used Santa Hat, a digi image from the Scribbles Store, to create my Christmas card. The North Pole sign is from Pixel Scrappers, and that fun patterned paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
To give my hat dimension, I adhered some homemade "faux snow." I made it by rubbing two white Styrofoam balls together, collecting the "snow" made from the friction. I finished off my card by doodling the border with a white gel pen.
It's time to pop in a Christmas movie and create with the North Pole as inspiration. Then link it up at Scribbles Designs for your chance to win free digis at the Scribbles Store. See you there!

Victorian CHristmas at Ike's World Challenge Blog

Merry Christmas from Ike's World Challenge Blog! The newest challenge is at its midway point, and its theme is a "Victorian Christmas." No, the thee is always optional, and as you can see, I took the Anything Goes route and arrived at the digital card above. Since my blog background is white. the card base did NOT show, but it does have a white cardstock background, and prints up nicely for perfectly flat, one postage stamp mailing. As you can see, it also looks great on a computer. Since my sister lives in Berlin, mailing even a letter is expensive from the States. She isn't coming home for Christmas, so I'm sending her this card electronically. In fact, I send her digital cards frequently. I miss her a lot.
Anyway, my card features:
Ike's Art Images: Kitten Kristmas
Papers: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Ornament 2, December Delights Paper Kit
& Gold, Glitterati 1 Paper Kit
Digital Elements: Pixel Scrapper Melo Vrijhof's Scatter, Christmas Day Set

Whether you create with a Victorian Christmas in mind, or have other ideas in mind, link your creation (anything goes) to Ike's World Challenge Blog for a chance to win a sweet girt certificate to the Ike's Art Store!

Good Luck and Happy crafting! And Happy Holidays from me to you!

Limited Runs Progressive Challenge on Facebook

I just discovered the Limited Runs Progressive Challenge. Of course, this is Challenge 10, and it ends on December 13th and it's the end of the year. I hope there are more!!

Meanwhile, I used this cute digi image for a new Christmas card. I've pretty much devoured my stash of cards for the holidays, and have to build it up again for next year. I tried coloring the image with colored pencils today instead of my Copics. Not very vibrant, but it still looks good, I think. The kitten looks so cozy, I used a sentiment stamp I've had for years on the card. I also dug up an embossed white-core piece of cardstock, and one last piece of  some patterned scrapbook paper. I added the bow (Martha Stewart) and Skittles from my stash. 2017 was supposed to be the year I used up my stash, and honest, I haven't bought anything new except for adhesives (I'm dying here, people). But my stash looks just as huge as it had last Christmas. I believe I have been a scrap hoarder, and will never get a chance to buy new at the just-opened Michael's store near me. (sigh)
Back to Limited Runs
You do have a few more days to get in on the progressive challenge. If you don't have this particular image, you can buy it at the STORE for only $1. Create with it and post it on the Limited Runs Fan Page and the next challenge you'll get a new image FREE! (I love free, don't you?)

What are you waiting for? Chop, chop, crafters. Only 4 days left to join in the fun for this challenge! Happy crafting!

Let the Festivities begin at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog

The hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season is most decidedly here! Whether you celebrate Chanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus or to say goodbye to the past year, the feeling of festivity is definitely in the air. And it's that feeling of FESTIVITY that the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog would like you to capture on your creations this month. With the joy and wonder of the holiday season surrounding us, it is the perfect time to apply that to your designs.

I got to create with a digital image from Bugaboo, one of two sponsors this month. The digi is called Snowman Couple. I believe that life is a series of celebrations, and you should take every opportunity to enjoy the festivities while you can. Whether you celebrate with just that one special someone, or a room full of strangers, make it a time to remember.

Of course, the challenge theme is always optional, but if you would like a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational, you must follow the theme of FESTIVITIES. Please be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize. Also, you are asked to leave a comment on how your creation relates to the theme of festivity if it isn't clearly written somewhere else in your post.

In order to be considered eligible for any prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of a $20 gift certificate from NS Designs, one of our guest sponsors this month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win an additional sponsored prize of a $12 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps, the second of our guest sponsors this month, for the project chosen as Most Inspiring. One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Whatever you choose to create, don't forget to link up to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog for your chance to win these great prizes. Happy crafting!

Scribbles Designs Christmas Carols Celebration - DAY 4

Today is DAY 4 of the Christmas Carols Celebration at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. The theme is  LET IT SNOW and there is a flurry of activity at the blog today! A new digi release and a new game to play for prizes are just some of the festivities offered as we celebrate a season of Christmas Carols. I'm already humming them! But let me show you what I created using today's new release, 0153 Let It Snow and Snowflake (freebie).
I used Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Snowy Trees patterned paper from Merry Mix 1 Paper Kit and used the Scribbles digital image as an overlay. Then I popped it onto another of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' papers, Red Glitter from Glitterati 1 Paper Kit. I decorated it simply with a couple snowflakes from the Scribbles store and I now have a set of cards printed up and ready to mail out.

Don't miss the fun and games (and chance for prizes) at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog as they celebrate Christmas Carols!! Happy crafting!!

A Tree-mendous Time of the Year at Scribbles Designs

I love this time of year. Music is playing in all the stores, people are smiling more, drivers are more courteous, stores have more sales. And it's also that time of year to pull out the tree (artificial) and start putting it together-which makes this the doubly perfect time to have a challenge showcasing TREES.
Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog asks crafters to use a tree or trees as your focal point on your project this month. While you can use any digital image or paper or even your own rendering of a tree, there are tons of digi images of TREES at the Scribbles Store. I used one called "Frosty's Trees 1."
I colored my image with Copics, shimmering it up a bit with metallic gel pens before popping it up against a patterned paper background from my stash. I created my own sentiment using two fonts: Dymaxiom Script and Logger. Some sparkly snowflakes and a few jewels finish off my tree-mendous Christmas card.
You have until the end of the 14th of December to create and link your project up with Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Store.

And don't forget to check out the
Merry Christmas Carol Celebration
going on NOW for the next FIVE DAYS at Scribbles, where each day crafters are asked to fulfill a task or answer a holiday-themed question for prizes galore!!
Let the celebration begin
