Another Month, Another Birthday Card

I love the sentiment on this card. It's a two-part greeting. And it goes  perfectly with the image I chose. The image is from Lynn Stansberry of Squigglefly. I colored her with Copics and double-framed her. All the papers I used are leftovers from previous projects.

The inside of the card reads: "and on my birthday, you must tell me that I look marvelous!" Isn't this the perfect image?! LOL

If Mother Goose Had a Cat

In my spare time (you know, waiting in the doctor's office, trying to get back to sleep at 3am, sitting on the toilet, etc.,), I like to sketch. I'm not great, but I think I have good ideas. Today I'm showing you my not-great-but-funny-idea sketch. It's an addendum on an old nursery rhyme.

Please let me know if you think the idea behind this is funny. I usually create cards that are funny, punny or have a punchline. I mostly use stamped and digital images but thought I would poke out of my creative box little, so comments appreciated...

For the Guys at Scribbles Designs

Today I created this card for the challenge at Scribbles Designs. The theme is For the Guys, and I just had to make mine humorous. I used a digi image from the Scribbles Designs Store called Snow Sign and placed it directly onto a scenic paper from the Nature of Christmas Paper Kit from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles before printing it up.
My image needed minimal coloring, but I did use Copics and gel pen on the image, sentiment and paper. I tossed a few glittery snowflakes and a row of pearls for embellishments and there you have it. Got to give it to "him" - it's a very clever way to get out of shoveling that white stuff, don't you think? LOL
You have until the 14th of the moth to link your own projects to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Store. Good luck and have fun!

Keep It Clean and Simple at Ike's World Challenge Blog

When I saw the set of Sock Puppets that Ike is offering at her STORE, I knew there had to be some good conversations between these dog Sockies. So for this month's Lean and Simple (CAS) theme at Ike's World challenge Blog, I found their perfect introduction to my blog.
I colored two of the four Sockies with my Copics, adhering them onto a bit of cardstock to frame them before popping them onto my card base. I did the same with my sentiment, and kept embellishments to 4 small black jewels. I knew my sentiment needed a CAS card for impact. Did I make you smile?
If not, I hope the Sockies did. And the best time to craft is when you're smiling. So I expect to see your projects at Ike's World Challenge Blog. Good luck and happy crafting!

All I Want for Christmas...

So many friends, so many Christmas cards needed. Here's another card, this one destined for my letter carrier. I had to use Stella from Bugaboo Designs with the sentiment inside reading:
"...is Santa's naughty Boy list"
I am still diligently using up my stash, although the temptation to run to Michael's is almost irresistible. However, I need to use up before I buy up. That's what keeps a craft room from becoming a crap room...

You can find "Stella Christmas - Boy List" digi at the Bugaboo Store HERE.   Now to get back to my Christmas card making. Happy crafting!

Hurray for Holley

I have a very good friend who is celebrating 8 years of "new life" after brain surgery. You can read her story HERE. I have only met her online but Holley has inspired me in so many ways. During the month of February, she is posting crafting questions and giving away prizes every day on her blog. One of her many sponsors is a favorite of mine, Sandra Caldwell Babycakes dnd.
Here's a card I created with one of four Celebration Sale digital images Sandra is offering this month. The image is called  1712 Doctor Hippo and I just love that she has hung up her "Hippo-cratic Oath" certificate on her office wall, although she needs to straighten it before her patients come in. Hippos are but one of Sandra's cute characters in her store. I have dozens of her images. I think my favorite one is of the three Stooges, although I have quite a few of her Santas (love them too).
Anyway, if you would like to have some fun and also wish Holley congratulations, go on over to her blog. Besides a lot of inspiration, you just might get lucky!

Having Pun at Ike's World Challenge Blog

I couldn't resist one more time! The theme is "Pun Intended" over at Ike's World Challenge blog, and I created not one, not two, but three cards for this challenge. For this card, I used two images from Ike's Art: "Shhh: and "Spring Fairy".I love puns (I think you can tell by now). This one is a little wordy, bu by splitting my pun in two, I was able to fit the following:
"A hole was discovered in the Nudist Camp wall..."
"The police are looking into it."
You have just two more days to make us groan over the puns you use to create your projects. Bring them on!!

Extra Fries?!

Well, I just booked our family vacation and we're headed to swim suit country. Which leads to spending what little free time I have on my spin bike. I'm up to 30 minutes, part (a very small part) of that time at 30 mph. So when I wanted a killer sentiment for my card, I was compelled to use the one I did. I think it's hilarious!
Today I colored up a Sweet Pea image called Spa-de-ha-ha by artist Lynne Stansbery. Don't those women look like they're having a fabulous time? The feel of this card is in sync with my Birthday Blowout celebration this month. If you haven't already, go to my original party post and read how you can be one of many winners of such prizes like digi goodies from Ike's Art, Creative Bug Designs, Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and Bugaboo. I also have crafting products from Stampin Up, Simpy Betty and much much more.
ALL my Followers who comment there will receive a special digi paper from Decosse's Dynamitr Doodles, and everyone who wishes me a Happy Birthday on that original post will receive the Ike's Art digi image I colored up for the card there. So you're already a winner just by Following my blog, wishing me Happy Birthday and placing my Birthday Blowout badge on your sidebar!! Woot, Woot!

Are you going on vacation this summer? Where are you going? If you have no plans, where would you go if you had the time and the money?? Comment today for your chance to win!!
