Quirky Challenge Reminder

Hello, crafters! I have been playing in my craft room and have created a hybrid layout. When I write hybrid, I mean that I used a digital image and colored it with my Copics, then used it to frame a photograph. I finished off my page digitally.
I created my page for this month's challenge over at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog, where the challenge is FLOWERS. There are THREE sponsors this month, which means extra chance to win prizes in May. My image comes from Delicious Doodles and is called Daisies & Butterfly Frame.

Here is what went into my scrapbook layout today:
Delicious Doodles Daisies & Butterfly Frame
Pixel Scrapper Violet Irisovna’s Bright Days Extra Papers Solid Green
Pixel Scrapper Pauline Thompson’s Bright Beautiful Artsy Paper 1; Eroded Hues Glitter element
Pixel Scrapper Bunting 1
Pixel Scrapper Janet Scott’s Strawberry Fields Stitch 2; Let’s Get Festive Green Stitches; Let’s Get Festive Green Sequins Scatter
Pixel Scrapper Marisa Lerin’s Special Day Leaf 5; Festive Flowers 173 Orange

Besides Delicious Doodles
our sponsors include Ike's Art

and Bloobel Stamps.
Hope you get to craft this month--if you do, don't forget to create with flowers for your chance to win prizes when you link up at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. See you there!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Today I want to showcase three of my favorite cards.  I could say I'm feeling nostalgic, but there is a method to my madness.  Delicious Doodles is having a Design Team call and asks for a post of three fave projects.
The problem was I had trouble choosing just three, so one of the ways I whittled down my selection was to choose just from the cards I've made, no altered art, no decor, not gifts or layouts.  Just cards--I hope you like them!
The first uses a stamped image from Crafters' Companion on an easel card.  Making easel cards is easier than crafters who've never tried them think. But I wanted to create a twist to the "open" or stand up part of it. The reason this is one of my faves is the pure architecture of the card.  The colors coordinate, the image isn't lost in the embellishments, but mostly the lines of the card are beautiful.

Next up is a pretty stamped image from Sweet Pea.  I like this card because I used patterned papers to set my scene, and the colors are not your normal ones.  I also like that I set the image by herself, yet she is so much a part of the whole scene.
You can also tell I love to distress!  By crumpling, sanding and inking the "sandy beach", it has more dimension to it.
The whispy white bow makes a nice cloud, don't you think?

Last, I made a card using a HouseMouse image.  It's a simple card, mostly image, paper and a couple embellishments.  I chose this one for two reasons:  the first is I love chocolate! LOL
The second is that I love how the chocolates came out, using my Copic markers.  They look so yummy, and I hope that's because of my coloring!
The colors really pop on the card, and the sentiment just seems to say it all!

So, there you have it--my love of cards and coloring in a nutshell.  Wish me lucl with the DT call, and if you have time on your hands and the need to create, check out Delicious Doodles blog!

3-2-1 iT'S cHALLENGE tIME!!

Have you checked out the Forever Night Creepy Challenge Blog yet?  It celebrates Halloween all year long for crafters, cardmakers and artists.  And who doesn't love to play with a Halloween theme more often than once a year?!
This week's challenge has a 3-2-1 theme, meaning:
3 EMBELLISHMENTS,    2 IMAGES, and   1 SENTIMENT.
Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles, and I used a deliciously wicked-looking mad scientist digi image called SPARKLING CYANIDE.  Isn't he creepy?  He fits in perfectly with a creepy challenge!!

I made an easel card for this week, so I could show off both my images,
but I am getting ahead of myself.

Let me count my card down for you:

3 Embellishments include a FEATHER,
some SEQUINS
 and a BUTTON.

2 Images include Delicious Doodles Sparkling Cyanide,
as well as the lower border of mad scientist chemicals and such bubbling away,
a Queen Kat Designs stamp called Chemistry Set.
(You can see the button embellishment in this photo, too)

1 Sentiment from my computer
that I circle-punched and faux-stitched.

And there you have it, my card for the 3-2-1 Creepy Challenge on Forever Night Creepy Challenges Blog.  So, what are you brewing for the new year?  If it's crafting, go check out Delicious Doodles and while you're filling up your cart, don't forget to use your new images in the CHALLENGE this week!

Have fun, and remember to keep Halloween in your heart all year 'round!!  Like Scrooge, but not?!
