Scribbles Goes Green This Month

Welcome to a brand new challenge at Scribbles Designs challenge blog. The theme is Go for Green, which I thought was a perfect time for me to create a new layout of Wilson. No, he's not an Irish Settler, he's a Silky Terrier. But We like  to give him a photo opp for each holiday.
I've been creating a lot of digital layouts lately. I would like to send them all out to be printed and bound into a book (or two or ten). While I LOVE paper layout pages, especially chunky ones with lots of memorabilia, they takes up LOTS of room in my house. I'd like to have them all out to pick up and look through now and then, but there's only so much room. I think the books would be a good investment.
If you scrapbook, have you ever made your pages into a bound book? Which company did you use and would you recommend them? Still considering where to get my pages...
Anyway, my layout uses three digital images from Scribbles Designs: F81 Shamrock (FREE), F109 Shamrock Balloons,  and F110 Leprechaun Hat. All my papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles: Chasing Rainbows Patterned Paper Kit, Glitterati Glitter paper in Gold and A Grungy Christmas Textured Paper Kit in dark blue.
I used a couple embellishments from Pixel Scrappers Pauline Thompson: Glitter Scatter 2 and Sheila Reid: Painted Heart Set 1, Brush 6. And my layout is complete...
Now it's time to go green and create something to link up to Scribbles Designs challenge blog for your chance to win  free digis from the Scribbles Store. I can't wait to see what YOU create!

Trying to Keep Cool

Hello, crafters! Now that we have reached the dog days of summer, I thought to create a cooling card for you. I used two digital images from Scribbles Designs: Snow Kisses and Melting for You. The papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. My collection of winter and holiday cards is almost complete. I feel so good about that! And I love creating 100% digital cards, because they are completely flat and mail out with just one regular stamp! LOL
Here are the details of this card:
Digital card using:
Scribbles Designs Snow Kisses Image & Melting For sentiment
DDD Momie Dearest Textured Papers Texture 7 & August Pools Paper

Meanwhile, don't forget to link up your card or project for this month's challenge at Scribbles Designs. The theme is the Power of Words, as in use a sentiment as your focal point on your project. Good luck and happy crafting!

Let's Get Quirky Masculine This Month

It's time for a new Quirky challenge, and the theme is Masculine with a Ribbon this month. Crafty Ribbons and Bugaboo are two of our sponsors.

I got to play with a cute digi image called "Sit Dog." Never in my wildest imaginings would I have ever considered becoming a dog owner, but through the years, my fears and allergies have all but disappeared. Now Wilson, a 7 year old Silkie Terrier, is a part of our family. We got him from the Buddy Foundation, who rescues dogs from high kill shelters. He chose us, and we are so happy. So if you see a few more dog and cat cards on my blog, you know why now.
A lot of digital elements and papers went into the creation of my card. The papers are all from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles: 3 from her Heartland Patterned Paper Kit, and 2 from her Grungy Christmas Textured Paper Kit. It often takes more time on the computer creating a digital project than it does working with ink and paper. My ribbons were tied into bows and then placed on the dog bones. It's nice, though, to create a card with layers and be able to stick it into an envelope and not have to pay extra postage to mail it off. This one is going to a friend's son who just got his own puppy and is celebrating his birthday.
Challenges I am Entering:
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes (birthday themed)
Crafty Gals Corner - All about the Boys
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Mod Squad Challenge blog - Feature a Creature

My next card also uses a sponsor's image. SLS Lines is also sponsoring this month's Quirky Masculine with a Ribbon Challenge.
I played with a digi image called Math Geek. It's another birthday card for a guy. My ribbon is behind my sentiment, which is a 2-parter. The inside reads, "...that you are turning 29 AGAIN! Happy Birthday!"

I used 3 different patterned papers on my card: one from Designs by Lozzy from her "Funky Numbers Kit". While not for sale, her papers are offered up as challenge prizes at her own challenge blog, A Bit More Time To Craft. The other two I made myself: one by embossing, and one with alcohol inks. I colored my image with Copics.
Challenges I am Entering:
Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers - G is for Gears (embossed paper)
Just Add Ink - Just Add Numbers
Simply Papercraft - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner - All about the Boys
SLS Lines challenges - Inspired by a Song, Book or Movie (as soon as I saw this image, I was reminded of the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Now it's your turn to create and link up your masculine with a ribbon project this month. we have some awesome prizes from our sponsors!! Happy crafting!

Let It Snow in the 12 Months of Christmas Cards LInk Up

The snow may be melting, but there are still signs of winter. Who am I kidding? I've seen it snow here in Chicago as late as May!! But according to the calendar, soon Spring will be upon us. At the 12 Months of Christmas Cards blog, let's pretend we're all from Chicago and include a little snow on our cards. In other words, if you create your Christmas card with the optional twist of a project featuring SNOW, you'll have a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $10.00 gift certificate from Scribbles Designs

So if you "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow" all over your cards, make sure you add "FT" after your name in the link-up so that we include you in the draw for the special prize.
Here's a little inspiration using the image called "Snow Kisses" from our sponsor, Scribbles Designs:

Along with the sponsor's (very cute) image, I used a digital patterned paper called "Snowflakes 3" patterned paper from the Snow Much Fun Collection, a January Kit of the Month from 2015 from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
As you can see, I Let It Snow all over my card in the form of felt border, brads and a Christmas greeting sticker. I found the sentiment, a Stampin Up leftover, in my stash.
Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, as well as have your name thrown into the year-end draw for some extra digital goodies. That free paper is designed by Lisa of Decosse's Dynamite DoodlesCards can be anything goes for this prize; they only have to follow the theme if you want a chance at the sponsor's prize.  The mini set of six digital papers called Snowfest, will also be offered up as a prize to one random winner.
What are you waiting for? Get going on your Christmas card stash, and play for free paper and possible prizes. It's a win-win situation!! LOL
