In case you didn't catch it on my Facebook page, I created a couple memes to hopefully make you laugh during the stay-at-home period:

I used a digi image from the Squigglefly Store. This one is from Marlene. The background is credited to Rush Ranch and I have a commercial license for it. It's called Good Vibes Journal Card. The font is called El Capitan. (If you noticed, I forgot to write the word "with" between woman and hand sanitizer).

This one uses a digital image from Rick St Dennis. She is part of a collection of characters called Morning Goddesses. I colored her with Copics. BTW, I wear jeans every day, just in case...

The image here is a free clipart I found through Google. I thought it went with the sentiment perfectly. Too perfectly.

I snagged the silhouette from free clipart library, and the paper and stitched frame is from Pixel Scrappers. The font is called Tall Marker.

I hope you enjoyed these memes. I'm looking for more ways to expand my artistic adventures, and since I love humor and puns, these fit me like a glove. Which reminds me, I need another box if I go out again...

Scribbles Goes Green This Month

Welcome to a brand new challenge at Scribbles Designs challenge blog. The theme is Go for Green, which I thought was a perfect time for me to create a new layout of Wilson. No, he's not an Irish Settler, he's a Silky Terrier. But We like  to give him a photo opp for each holiday.
I've been creating a lot of digital layouts lately. I would like to send them all out to be printed and bound into a book (or two or ten). While I LOVE paper layout pages, especially chunky ones with lots of memorabilia, they takes up LOTS of room in my house. I'd like to have them all out to pick up and look through now and then, but there's only so much room. I think the books would be a good investment.
If you scrapbook, have you ever made your pages into a bound book? Which company did you use and would you recommend them? Still considering where to get my pages...
Anyway, my layout uses three digital images from Scribbles Designs: F81 Shamrock (FREE), F109 Shamrock Balloons,  and F110 Leprechaun Hat. All my papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles: Chasing Rainbows Patterned Paper Kit, Glitterati Glitter paper in Gold and A Grungy Christmas Textured Paper Kit in dark blue.
I used a couple embellishments from Pixel Scrappers Pauline Thompson: Glitter Scatter 2 and Sheila Reid: Painted Heart Set 1, Brush 6. And my layout is complete...

Into the Woods with Scribbles Designs

My card today is a hybrid, mixing paper-crafting with digital papers and elements. I printed and colored up a Scribbles Designs digi image called Bunny Bum (several times, as you can see). Using Photoshop Elements, I added my images to patterned paper and used a couple more papers and elements to finish off my card. Here are the details of my project:

Celebrate Independence at Ike's World Challenges Blog

Today I created a hybrid layout for my DT make at Ike's World Challenges Blog. Hybrid projects mix hand-crafting with digital design. I hand-colored images from Ike's Art, fussy-cut them, and added in a mix of photos to make a 21st birthday page of my daughter.I thought it was perfect for the theme of "Be Independent" as Wendy was born on the 4th of July, 1995. That's right, my baby girl is 21!!  

I tried to encompass her journey from little tyke to young woman, and I am proud that I am her mom. Happy Birthday, my love!

Scrapping My Heart Out

 Life is short, so if I want to get all my digital (and paper) photos scrapped, I'd best be starting NOW. So I did! Over the last week, I experimented and practiced and learned in Photoshop elements and created a 6-page layout of trips to Great America over the years. We live about 45 minutes from Gurnee, IL, which is our amusement park of choice. In creating my first page, I made the photo framed above transparent and enlarged it to fit the entire page before adding it in the center.

I decided to carry over the transparent photo theme onto most of the other pages. Scrapbookers know how important it is to journal, so my second page's journaling takes up most of the room.

Between kids and grandkids, friends and family, we have made a load of memories to cherish. In fact, hubby and I visited Great America in San Francisco, CA, on our honeymoon, but I don't have photos of that trip.

Some of our favorite rides have been the American Eagle, the Viper, the X Factor, Batman the Ride and Superman. Although the grandkids loved them, I wouldn't go on a spinning ride to save my life!

This page is not 100% digital. It's a hybrid, a merging of paper-crafting and digital.  I forgot to mention the Carousel, the first ride visitors see when entering the park. On one visit, my daughter, my sister and I each jumped on our favorite racing steed and galloped off into the sunset. Just not before grabbing a couple funnel cakes to split.

Finally, one can't appreciate Great America until they've visited Fright Fest, the best and scariest of Halloween fun. My DIL was hired for the celebration and seeing her in make-up was the best entertainment! The photo above shows her with my son sans make-up. I like her better in pink, though. LOL

Someone Stole My Heart

I am finally branching out in my digital crafting and creating scrapbook layouts in Photoshop. No more hundreds upon hundreds of photos on my laptop lying dormant and un-scrapped until I get "the time" to spend a few hours and crop!
This is my newest page, showcasing one of my newest grandchildren. Jonathan is now 8 months old, and I don't want to get too far behind! Now I can spend some time getting more proficient in Photoshop and get photos scrapped at the same time. It's a win-win situation!

Graceful Living

Welcome to a new challenge at the Path of Positivity challenge blog. This month we are celebrating GRACE. Grace is an attitude, a way you act, or react, to any given situation. Grace can be achieved with practice, with patience, and with compassion. Grace can lift spirits from a depressing day, a stressful event, even an overwhelming disappointment. It can turn a life around, as my sentiment reads. We should all practice to live gracefully-the world would be a much nicer, more peaceful place in which to live.

All of these digital elements and papers came together to create my DT card for the new challenge. Some crafters do not appreciate the time and energy that goes into making a digital card or layout. I love hybrid and digital cards because I can store them easily, and I can print them to send out to family and friends. I can even email cards to my sister who now lives in Germany (postage across the world is SO expensive).
I hope soon that there will be more challenge blogs that accept hybrid and digital creations. Meanwhile, the Path of Positivity challenge blog accepts any and all creations of a positive nature, and this month the positive theme is GRACE. What can you create this month?
