Midway at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

Just a reminder that the "Power of Words" challenge at Scribbles Designs is at its halfway point. This challenge is easy. Use a sentiment as your focal point on your card or project. I used a Scribbles Digi image called Gem, found at the Scribbles Store, to create ATC-sized thank you cards.
With my husband's disability, we are constantly going to doctor appointments and meeting with therapists and social workers. So many people are taking care of our needs in a caring and kind manner. I want to be able to show how much we appreciate their help and support with a little card to show how much we care about them.
I'll keep these cards and their envelopes in my purse, so that by the time our appointment is over, I can hand out an already personalized card. It's one thing to be grateful; it's another thing to actually show it.

Summer's Blooms Leave Us Wanting More

I love Progressive Freebie challenges, and the Outlawz Freebie Challenges has a new challenge and a new sponsor. I created a tag card, covering it with CTMH paper from my stash (who am I kidding, it's ALL from my stash LOL). After coloring her, I popped her out and framed her with a large flower. I found a quote I like for a Thank You card, then plunged into my bin of flowers and had my way with them. I finished off my card with a bit of wide ribbon and more flowers and it's ready to head out to a very generous woman who offered up a few weeks of her summer off by volunteering in several programs offered by my church. She'll be back in just a couple weeks to teach this Fall as well.

Embossed Thank You! Challenge from Squigglefly

Happy New Year!  The first Squigglefly challenge of the new year is to make an embossed Thank You card using a Squigglefly digi image.  I used a January new release from Cheryl Grant Alger called "A Good Read Maddie."

I adhered an embossed card front onto the base of my card, turning up the top right corner for a bit of a twist.  Once I colored my image with Copics, I used a design scissors to cut it out and framed it with pieces of pink and blue cardstock.  A few sequins and a butterfly embellish my card and I can write inside the card to send off to a generous friend who remembered me this Christmas.

Let Your Dreams Fly High as a Kite

Taking a break from Christmas card making (and Christmas present and goody bag and gift wrap and table decoration making) to make a card for this week's Squigglefly challenge, which is to make a card that shimmers and shines.

So I grabbed a new December release from Dawn Collins called Fly A Kite.  After coloring it with Copics, I framed it and distressed the edges.

An  circle-punched and embossed "thank you" sentiment finished my card with the basics.  Then I got to throw on the glitz, using various colors of Stickles on the kite tail, as well as kite-shaped jewels under the sentiment.  A shiny sequin puts my shiny card to rest.
