Ike's World Challenge Blog is Inspired by Songs

The challenge this month at Ike's World Challenge Blog is to create something inspired by a song. You would think that a Star Wars-inspired image like this one would have been inspired by the theme song from the original movie, wouldn't you? Believe it or not, the inspiration for my altered art project came from an oldie but goodie - MR. ROBOTO. If you've ever heard this song, I know you've got it stuck in your head now. (you're welcome, LOL)

The image I used to create my altered tray comes from a digital set of 8 images called Sexy Star Wars and can be found at Ike's Art Store.  The song, the image and my latest dive into fluid acrylic painting has come together to create this "cosmic cell phone tray" (I'm always losing my phone). I didn't want to cover up the "intergalactic scene" my painting created, so I added just a bit of trim around the tray's edge and a few shaped paper clips.
Now, I've been told that I have a warped sense of humor, but do you get the pun intended? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy (not an I-phone but  an...) sigh, some people just don't like puns

Anything Goes at the Outlawz Monday Greetings

Today brings us a new challenge at the Outlawz Monday Greetings. And they also have two sponsors-that's twice the prizes offered this week! My first card uses the digi "Wine Bottle w/Glass" from Angie's Cards & Digis. My sentiment was inspired by the theme song from the movie "Cabaret." However, the theme this week is Anything Goes!
After coloring my image with Copics, I added a little dimension with white gel pen. My papers, die-cuts and embellishments are all pulled from my magic bag of leftovers (magic because it seems to be bottomless). I think my color scheme of pink, green and ivory work well here, don't you?

My second card today uses a digi image from Creative Bug Designs, also sponsoring the Outlawz Monday Greetings this week.

I colored an image called "Look at Me, Lolly." I love that he's peeking through a hole just to greet us! I found this fabulous paper (again, stash is endless) and popped him smack in the middle of the "rays" of sunshine, thereby inspiring me to continuously hum "Hello Sunshine" by Aretha Franklin from 1968.

I adhered tiny jewels around my circle of sunshine and added some sequins for sparkle. After adding some fiber for texture, I die-cut my song-inspired sentiment, and my card is complete. Now if I could just get the song out of my head...

Hats Off to Ike's World Challenge Blog

 I mean, Hats On at Ike's world Challenge blog, as in the theme for this fortnight is Easter Bonnets/Hats.

I created a card in soft pastels for my DT make, using Ike's Art "Hat 1." Pulling out leftover papers, I built up my card face. After coloring my image with Copics, I used a little Stickles on the bow and framed it with a paper doily. I used the yellow felt flower border to pull the yellow onto the rest of the card. I embellished simply after popping on my sentiment and my card is ready to be mailed.
