New Challenge at Craft Your Passion

As we head into the Christmas season, I tend to notice more generosity in others. There are more smiles and courtesies shared among strangers, and food pantries are at their fullest around this time of year. While many of today's problems cannot be solved by a single act, it's a start.
So let's start with a little peace around the world, by the simple act of praying for it. Every prayer that is whispered, spoken or sung is a step toward peace. If you don't pray, then act. Every tiny act of kindness is a step toward peace.
Whether the peace starts in your own family, in your neighborhood or around the world, you can make a difference, one tiny step at a time. Let's start the New Year right!
My card reflects the mood I'm in. It's my DT card for Craft Your Passion challenge blog, whose sponsor this week, A Day for Daisies, offers this digital image in their Etsy shop. It's called A Child's Prayer.
What are you in the mood to create this week? Whatever it is, link up with us at Craft Your Passion for your chance to win!!

Too Cute to Spook

Today brings a new challenge to Craft Your Passion challenge blog. Guest sponsor is Aurora Wings, and I got to play with "Young Witch with Cat." I can't imagine this little witch cooking up concoctions and creating havoc with her spells, can you? She looks too cute to spook!
I again dipped into my never-ending supply of leftover papers and embellishments to create this fun Halloween card. The stars and spidery border are felt and foam, and I had a piece of a black jeweled flourish to help frame the image.
I colored her with Copics, then Stickled the edges and popped it onto some coordinating cardstock, and that completes my card. I have as much fun making Halloween cards as I do Christmas cards. Really, I think it's more the change in seasons than anything else. I seem to always be ready for changes in temps, colors and smells when it comes to seasons, especially when we Fall out of Summer.
We're celebrating Halloween with my granddaughter Bella and have planned pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating and of course crafting throughout her visit. I can't wait!!
Meanwhile, it's always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion challenge blog. You can find inspiration both at the challenge blog, as well as at the Aurora Wings Etsy Shop. Stop by and link up your project this week!

I'm Nuts for Autumn

Welcome to a new week, and a new challenge from Craft Your Passion challenge blog. Guest sponsor this week is Doodle Pantry, and I created a Fall-themed card using a difital set called "Just Nutty." The set is loaded with pre-colored and outline images, digital papers and sentiments.
I was inspired to create this card after meeting one of our newest neighbors.
The family was entranced by this little guy's brashness. He came right up to my daughter and her friend on the front stoop, and made himself comfortable. So of course we had to feed him!
What was truly amazing was that he wanted to make his home in the backpack, and we had to take strong measures to look elsewhere for the winter.
So there you have it in a nutshell-my inspiration for my card. Where do you find inspiration? I find it in the most unlikely places!! LOL
Don't forget that Craft Your Passion offers Anything Goes challenges, so I hope to see your creations on their challenge blog this week. And as always, crafters, have fun!

Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion

Today brings some uber cold temps (I went to work at 0 degrees) and a challenge from Craft Your Passion to warm your creative spirit. This week's sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and I got to play with Ava Deacon Friends.
I used colors I normally don't work with-purples, yellows and greens, but I really like the way it turned out. I embellished with several die-cuts, a few jeweled flowers and a pretty 3D butterfly, and colored my image with Copics.
A simple card, simply made, took ten minutes to put it all together because all I had to do was reach into my stash!
Come play in Craft Your Passion's newest challenge for your chance to win!!

When One Door Closes...

It's said that when one door closes, another door opens. In my case, it is so true. After a couple years designing for Squigglefly Designs, the company is about to close its doors. I learned so much from being on their team, and was lucky to play with so many images from very talented artists. I will miss my teammates as well, whose projects inspired me to go that extra step in my artistic work. Door softly closes...

Today, a new door to opportunity opens for me. Above is my first project as a Design Team member for Craft Your Passion challenge blog!! I am blessed to have been invited to design along with new teamies AgnieszkaAletheaHelenaKimLynnMichelle and Tanvi. I hope to enjoy the same close relationship with my Craft Your Passion DT, as well as inspire/be inspired by them.
My first project is a birthday card using an image from this week's guest sponsor, Aurora Wings. They are offering a prize of $10 worth of digital stamps from store.
My image is called Cupcake Kitten, and she is a patient little thing, waiting for that creamy goodness atop her head. That's why I thought the sticker sentiment was perfect for this image: Time to Eat. After coloring my image with Copics, I dabbed a little Stickles on for shimmer. The border at the top is from K & Co, and I had a few leftover cupcake embellishments from a previous project. The sentiment inside reads: "...your Birthday Cake!! Have a sweet day!"
Craft Your Passion offers weekly challenges with an ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES theme. So come and play with us, and show us what you got!
