Come Sail Away with the Path of Positivity Challenge this month

I created a yarn canvas. After drawing my scene from scratch, I enlarged it and copied it onto my 16x20 canvas. To keep me on track, I colored in the different sections with markers. I then gathered up my cotton yarns and cording and spent over a week adhering strips of yarn onto my canvas. Every inch of my canvas is covered with cotton and I have the blisters (hot glue gun) and headaches (E6000) to prove it. LOL

Tis is my first time making one of these. I call it "Come Sail Away" and I chose to use it as my DT project because I've always wanted to travel. After I retired, I've visited Florida, Germany, Cozumel, Arizona, Massachusetts, Texas, Cancun and been on a 2-week cruise with my sisters to the Caribbean. Later this year I'm meeting family in Hawaii. I am achieving my dreams and goals, even if it's taken me years to finally be able to do so.

The lesson I learned is to never give up on your goals and dreams. Work on them. Plan how to achieve them. Save money if it's needed. And when your dreams/goals come true, know that you deserve to relax and enjoy them, and feel proud to have reached them...

The The Path of Positivity is challenging crafters to create something inspired by Dreams or Goals. I was inspired by the quote offered on their blog:
“Goals are dreams brought to life.” ― Amy Leigh Mercree
It's their last challenge before taking a summer break. Any type of project is welcome, so I hope to see your creation there this month!

Big Wheels Keep on Rolling at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

Hello, crafters! I've been busy lately NOT crafting, but I had to show you my DT piece for Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. It's the 15th of the month, and Scribbles has a new challenge to offer you: Big Wheels Keep on Turning!
My craft supplies are still packed up, so I created a digital card for my brother-in-law. I have used several digi images from the Scribbles Store: Truck, Sun, Cat, Carl, Tattoo Flower 2 & Birthday Cake Slice.
The other elements of my digi card include papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles (Clouds 2 Patterned Paper and Pixel Scrapper KaleiDesigns (Back to Nature Paper 08 & Border 5). I used a font called Tall Marker for my sentiment.
I hope I have inspired you to create, whether digitally or hand-crafted, and to link your project to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digital images from the Scribbles Store!!
Happy Crafting!

Anything Goes w/OPTIONAL Theme of "The Road Ahead"

Welcome to a brand New Year. With this beginning come changes, like at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. This year every month is ANYTHING Positive or Affirming GOES, sometimes with an Optional theme. To start the New Year off, the first challenge has the OPTIONAL theme of "The Road Ahead."
There are two sponsors in January - Scribbles Designs
AND
Today I created a digital card using Scribbles Designs images: #953 Pull Trailer, Carl & Sun (freebie). I colored the image and squeezed photos of my grandchildren into the windows (the car is free clipart). Then I popped the whole thing onto scenic paper. Scribbles image "Carl" is hitching a ride on the wheel bumper, and Scribbles image "Sun" gives the effect of both a cloudy day and a sunny one.
That's what life is full of, both cloudy days and sunny ones. How we spend those days will predict whether this new year is one filled with happy memories and fun adventures, or "just another trip around the sun." I hope your New Year is filled with happiness!!
Card created with:
Scribbles digital images: #953 Pull Trailer, Carl & Sun
Papers from: Pixel Scrapper Brooke Gazarek's Enchanted Green and Doll House Krysty's Scrap Designs Scenic Paper 8
Element: Pixel Scrapper Karry Dempsey's Dirty McFilthy Flower 3
Font: Draughtsman & LD Handwritten Greetings
I hope you'll choose the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog to create and link up a card or project this month.

Color Theme at the Outlawz Greetings Challenge

Today brings a new challenge to the Outlawz Monday Greetings, and it is a COLOR challenge: use Blue, Green & Red on your project this week. This week we have two generous sponsors, Robyn's Fetish
and My Stitch Back in Twine
I created a hybrid card using Copic-colored digi image called Mermaid Darcy from My Stitch Back in Twine, and a digitally-produced background for her. The background uses:
Pixel Scrapper Amanda Brown’s Hollister Crab Sticker; PS Janet Scott’s Winter Arabesque Ripped Paper, Strawberry Fields Sun Doodle & Work Day Red Dots Paper; PS Sharon Grant’s Fall Beach Vacation Embellishment 11; PS Melo Vrijhof’s Summer Splash Teal Zentangle Paper.
So, what's om your craft table this week? Hope there's some red, green & blue supplies so you can join us for this week's COLOR challenge at the Outlawz Greeting Challenge.
