Finding Faith, Hope & Love on the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog

The last twelve years have been rough. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to treasure every minute with those you love. Yesterday is history, and the future is not promised. We only have today, we only have this moment.
Taking this lesson to heart, I won't wait until September 21, my wedding anniversary, to celebrate my marriage to hubby Bill. I tell him I love him every day. And today I created a card for him, an early anniversary card, if you will. He will be getting quite a few of these throughout the year.
I found the perfect sentiment, too. It's one I used when I made my son's wedding invitations. Both he and his wife loved it. It goes perfectly with the digi image from Pattie's Creaations that I hand colored with a combination of Copics, colored pencils and glitter pens. Because my craft supplies are boxed up, I created a hybrid card. I photographed my hand-colored image and created my card using digital papers and elements:
Hybrid card uses:
A hand-colored Pattie's Creations Seashell Border 1 with
Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Chasing Rainbows Falls PP, Bokeh Multicolor 1 PP and A Grungy Christmas Blue
DDD A Tag Grab Bag Bow 2
PixelScrapper Janet Scott's A Mother's Love Heart Border Doodle 2

My card was created for this month's challenge theme over at the Path of Positivity. June's theme is all about FAITH, HOPE & LOVE. They especially want to see wedding, anniversary and engagement cards. Of course, the challenge theme is optional, but in order to have a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational Creation, we want to see you create a wedding card, an engagement card or an anniversary card that reflects the concepts of faith, hope and/or love. Please remember to type in the letters FT after your name when you link your card up so we know you followed the theme. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of three images from Pattie's Creations, one of our guest sponsors this month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a scrapbooking kit from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles, provided by the second of our guest sponsors this month. One digital image is given from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Think Pink!

Today brings a new challenge at the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenges. The theme is to use PINK on your project. I love a funny card, so I created my project for our anniversary. I reached into my magical bag of craft supplies and pulled out a sticker sheet with funny speech bubbles. I thought this one was very appropriate!
After coloring my image, a Dr Digi called "Made for Each Other," I "pinked" the heck out of my card, first with a sewn-border piece of cardstock and then with pastel pink-embossed paper. That nice fat bow finishes off the color theme. I added a few jewels, and those hand-drawn stitches coordinate with this lovely couple's own stitches.
All in all, I think he'll like it!
Dr Digi is one of this week's sponsors, and he has some fun images with which to play. I always have a difficult time choosing an image--there are so many! I hope you'll check the store out and fine some inspiration there, as I always do.
And whatever you create this week, add pink and link up with the Outlawz Greetings challenges for your chance at some free digis. And as always, crafters, have FUN!
Challenges I am Entering:
Cards in Envy - Inspired by a Song (Hey, Good Lookin')
Card Mania - Pastel colors
Craft-Dee BowZ - Anything Goes w/a Handmade Bow
House of Cards - Stitching

Happy Anniversary to my Knight in Shining Armor

Another Monday with the Outlawz Greetings Challenges!
This week is Anything Goes, my fave kind of challenge. I decided to make an anniversary card for my sweet hubby of 38 years. He truly is my Knight in Shining Armor, which also happens to be the name of the digital image I used from one of this month's sponsors, A DAY FOR DAISIES.
After coloring my hero with Copics, I fussy-cut him out, changed out his frame for a patterned paper one and popped him on some shiny silver foil paper (after punching the edges with a Martha Stewart set of hand-helds). Then came the jeweled flourishes, the hearts, the pearls and the sentiment (K&Co). Don't you love that patterned paper I used in the background? It's from CTMH.
I went all out on my card, even adding m'lady's (my) scarf at the end of his lance, as well as adding a feather (ahem) I mean plume, to his helmet. And my valiant knight is off to win his true love's heart. Silly boy, he should know he has it by now! He's much better off sneaking in to his lady's bedchambers and...oops, never mind. Some things are best left unsaid. LOL
My inspiration for this card came from a few sources:
We Do Dobadoo - Romance Challenge #2
Open-minded Crafting for their "Inspired by a Movie" challenge (First Knight & Camelot)
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for their brilliant alphabetical challenge (I chose "I for Iconic-call him Lancelot, King Arthur-any guy on a horse wearing a tin can holding a long stick is easily identifiable as an icon)

Other challenges I am entering:
Left of Center Challenges - Layer It Up
Glitter n Sparkle - Pearls & Swirls
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes
That Craft Place - Love and/or Valentine
