Flip-a-Coin Challenge at 12 Months of Christmas

For those of you who have been self-isolating, I hope you've been using your time wisely, and by wisely I mean building your stash of holiday cards!! My card today is a DT make for The 12 Months of Christmas, a challenge blog that promotes creating holiday cards yearlong. 
The challenge is Anything Holiday card Goes with a fun twist, where you'll need a coin to flip for the creation of your card. All Dressed Up is the guest sponsor, and I have used a digi called "Tra-La-La-La". I used Decosse's Dynamite Doodles paper from a kit called Snow Bokeh Trees (I love all her Bokeh papers).

Of course, I flipped my penny to "discover" my challenge requirements, and then I used my coin to cut out the greeting, which is a part of the image. Here is the flip-a-Coin box where you flip for your own requirements:

As you can see, I flipped Heads for #1 and made a card with 3 or less layers; #2 was Tails for using a fancy fold technique; #3 Heads had me add dots to my card (if you click on my card, you'll see that all my singing animals are wearing dotted winter accessories; #4 brought out my lace; and #5 Tails caused the card to offer faux stitches.

Of course, I don't have children to home school and entertain, nor a job to do from home. Today's card is a DT make for the 12 months of Christmas Challenge Blog. This month's guest sponsor is Ike's Art,and I have colored an Ike's Art digi image called "High Five". I added the Santa hat to make him more merry, and created a scene using papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.The sentiment is also from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

One Last Card

This month is crazy busy,  but I still wanted to let you know that the 12 Months of Christmas has one last challenge for 2019.  The guest sponsor is Scribbles Designs, and I used a digi image from the store called #0133 Melting For to create my card.
Actually, the DT has this month off, but I wanted to feature a card using our sponsor's image. My card was originally posted in January of 2017. I printed my word art image onto colored cardstock, using papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
Of course, to qualify for the store gift certificate from Scribbles Designs, you will have to create a new holiday card. Just link it to the 12 Months of Christmas blog, and good luck!

Santa is Sensational at the 12 Months of Christmas

Christmas is getting awfully close now, crafters! Do you have enough handmade cards for this year? There's still time at the 12 Months of Christmas to create your holiday cards AND have a chance to win prizes.
This month the guest sponsor is Limited Runs, and I chose to create this spin card using a digi image called Santa Cup. I printed my image twice, coloring one cup empty and the other cup with coffee. So when the card comes out of its envelope, the recipient will see it as it is above - empty.

When the card is opened, you'll see the cup has coffee - lucky for you because it puts you back on the NICE list. As the front of the card says, "NO COFFEE = CRANKY SANTA".

After creating the spin card base, I covered it with patterned paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

A Plaid Christmas at the 12 Months of Christmas blog

Hello, crafters! My DT make today is for the 12 Months of Christmas. Their challenge twist this month (which is optional) is Christmas Plaids. I used some lovely papers from Decosse's Dynamite doodles for my card, and an paw-some, I mean awesome, digi image from this month's sponsor, Ike's Art. It's called Waiting for Santa, which I thought made the perfect sentiment for my card.

I printed the uncolored image onto a Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' paper from the set below to create an outdoor scene for my cats to look out on.

Once it was printed, I colored the image with Copics and gel pens. How do you think my carpet turned out? I used 4 different markers for that! Once I was finished coloring, I framed it with red cardstock (not really-I'm out of red! so I colored white cardstock with my red Copic marker) and popped it onto my Christmas plaid paper, also from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. This is from the set below. 

I hand lettered my sentiment since my printer decided to run out of ink, and wouldn't you know it, I bought the wrong cartridge series, so I got to practice my calligraphy. A little bit of lace, some jewels and a bow complete my card.

Although the Twist is Christmas Plaids, you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, or for a chance to win a gift certificate from Ike's Art. Christmas Creatures Featured at the 12 Months of Christmas

Here's my holiday card for the 12 Months of Christmas blog. The optional twist is to create a card with a Christmas creature. I played with an image from Babycakes DND by Sandra Caldwell. It's called Snow Kitties and it is too cute, don't you think?! Babycakes DND is this month's guest sponsor, and one of my favorite stamp artists.

Last month Chicago almost broke its record for latest Spring snowfall, the second snowfall in April. So creating Christmas cards in May is not exactly "out of season". Since I started creating this year's holiday cards in January for the 12 Months of Christmas Challenge blog, I'm building up quite a stash to send out!

Luna Girl Sponsors 12 Months of Christmas Blog

It's the 15th of the month, which means it is the midway point in the Anything Christmas Goes challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Blog. The optional twist is to Add at least THREE brads, buttons or bows, or a combination of all three to your card, and the guest sponsor is Luna Girl.  All projects qualify for a chance to win the sponsored prize from Luna Girl.

Luna Girl has the most beautiful collection of vintage photos ever. I love cruising through their assortment and collections, especially their collage sheets. I got to play with the collage sheet called Winter Wonder to create my holiday card today. Since my sister lives with her husband in Berlin, I wanted to personalize their card, so I wrote the sentiment in German.

I didn't forget the theme of the challenge! You can see my red bow at the top of my sentiment as well as my 2 brads. I don't know about you, but this last Christmas depleted my stash of Christmas cards. So once again I need to build it up starting NOW, so I don't have to rush toward the end of the year. My first holiday card of 2019 features a digi image from Sheepski Designs called Snowboardin'.

I don't normally like making a circular card, but this cute snowman inspired me to create my DT card today. After coloring him with Copics, I used dimensional tape to pop him onto my paper and framed it all with a paper doily.

My embellishments are simple. I used a border die to get the tiny snowflakes that I placed around my snowman. Then I used some Stickles to give them and the background some shimmer. Finally,  I used white flocking powder to circle around the edge of my paper circle.

Photo Inspiration for Christmas Cards This Month

Hello there crafters! Welcome to another challenge at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up. It is the first day of September and that means there are only four months left to add to the Holiday Card Pile, so let's continue with that goal in mind!
This month it's a holiday-photo inspiration challenge. The great thing about pictures is that one person can be moved by one aspect while another may see something totally different. So, whether you are inspired by the colors, the shapes or the objects themselves, it doesn't matter. 

For my card, I chose to pull the colors teal and red from the photo, along with the package's striped wrapping. They inspired me to create a non-traditionally colored but very modern greeting with Peace as the central theme. The image is from Sparkle n Sprinkle and it's called "70's Peace Sign." SNS is the guest sponsor this month at the 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up Blog. I also used papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles"
