Keep the Christmas Spirit All Year Through

We;re coming into the home stretch now. How is your stash of Christmas cards piling up? Ready to mail out now? I have loads of cards, some I can mail out like this digital card, nice and flat and only needing one stamp. Others are a bit chunkier, and will be handed out to family, friends and co-workers. It's been a wonderful year, and I am so thankful to have been asked to join the DT at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up challenge blog.
This month's theme is "Sparkle, Sparkle, Everywhere" and who better to sponsor the challenge than the glitterati of sparkle itself, Sparkle N Sprinkle. In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, we want to see a Christmas or other holiday card that has lots of sparkle and shine on it. Here is your chance to grab your glitter, sparkles and other forms of bling and get to it! If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.
Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $15 gift certificate to the Sparkle N Sprinkle store.

I decided to use a non-Christmas-themed image. I love mixing things up like that. I chose a darling little mermaid called Darien, and imagined how she would get ready for Christmas. Presents, of course, for her underwater besties and perhaps some ornament-laden coral as well. I love how she made her sandy floor sparkle (with a little help from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' Gold patterned paper from the new Glitterati Paper Pack). There's as much shimmer and shine below the water as there is above it.
Along with my holiday-minded mermaid, I used the following:
Papers: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles “Glitterati” Paper Kit, Gold & Blue; Marta Van Eck's “Winter Scene” Paper Kit
Elements: Sparkle n Sprinkle digital image “Southern Santa” (presents)
Rucola Designs “Dead or Alive” Collection: Stars
Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles “It’s Ornamental” Paper Kit, Green Balls (ornaments)
So let's see some shiny Christmas spirit on your cards this month as we get ready to send out all the cards we've created throughout the year. Happy crafting!

  • Additional Sponsor: Décosse's Dynamite Doodles
  • Prize being offered: One free digital paper to everyone who links up a minimum of two cards to the challenge.  Cards can be anything goes for this prize, they only have to follow the theme if they want a chance at the sponsor's prize.  The mini set of six digital papers called Glitteratti Set 1, will also be offered up as a prize to one random winner.

It's Snowing Cupcakes (I wish!)

Here is my midway DT project for this month's 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up challenge. I got to play with a sweet digi image from Imagine That! Digis by Kris. It's called Cupcake Snowman. The blog offers us an optional theme of Kids' Christmas cards. In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, they want to see a Christmas or other holiday card, meant for a child between the ages of 0 & 12. I can't wait to see how it turns out! If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that they include you in the draw for the prize.
Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards, earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year-end draw for some extra digital goodies. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $10 gift certificate to Imagine That! Digis by Kris store.

Here's a little about this month's sponsor:

Digis by Kris™ is a mother/daughter team bringing you our cutest hand-drawn images that you can flip, re-size, re-color, print & use in your crafting creations!  Almost all our digi sets include both color & outline formats & include sentiments for a great value.  In addition to carrying family-friendly digi stamps, we also offer digital papers and KD-Kits, all available as instant downloads!  You may want to check out our Free blog Wear category, as well as find freebies on our Facebook Page and join in our monthly progressive challenge where everyone who plays, Wins!  You can read more about us here on our 'About the Artists' page.
Okay, crafters, it's your turn! You have until October 31st to link up your card(s) at the 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up blog. If you link up at least 2 cards, you will receive a free digital Christmas-themed paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. If you create using the theme of Kids' Christmas, make sure you add the letters FT after your name for that prize draw.
And as always, crafters, have fun!!

Two-fer Wednesday!

I love when I can make two different cards with the same design and the same image! Above is a birthday card I made for my sweet hubby. He is now officially two years older than I. In April, I celebrate my own birthday and we go back to his being only one year older (hey, gotta take it when it's there). LOL
I used a gorgeous image from Art by Miran called "Winter Sofia." Since I adore the color teal, I drenched my card in that color, using Copics to color up Sofia, and papers to enhance the tone. I added a bit of shimmer with Stickles. I'm entering my card into the Art by Miran Challenge blog, where every challenge is Anything Goes, my fave kind of challenge! Check out the inspiration there, and go play!
My second card is almost identical, with just a tweak of coloring, and a little less sparkle. Don't you love the lace I used? I got lucky at this summer's rummage sale and found a small box of various laces. This card is for the 12 Months of Christmas Challenge blog. It's a progressive challenge with prizes for participating each month. I'm a little behind, as this month is past the midway mark, but better late than never!
Other Challenges I am entering:
Fab & Gunky Challenges - Buttons! (my snowflakes are buttons w/the hanks cut off)
Frilly & Funky Challenges - Winter
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - All Wrapped Up
Scrapper's Delights Challenges - Favorite Colors (mmm, teal & pink!)
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Challenges - Something Old, Something New (old lace, new image)
