Today I made an unusual shadow box. The box is actually one of three pieces of wood used to form shelves to hang on walls. I went a step beyond and filled the empty space with a winter woodland scene. My clear acrylic deer stands majestically in front of snow-laden trees. I added a few floral picks(?white swirly ones) in back of him, and two cards that read, Peace and Joy in front. I sprinkled "Faux Snow". That's my name for the fake snow I make by rubbing two styrofoam balls together (easy and cheap).
I had made another, smaller piece, placing the same-sized deer on a large wooden slice and added trees, cards and snow. Both were hits at the craft fair I participated in, and sold to a mother and daughter for their homes. It makes me happy knowing they're going to a good home...
