New Tilda Album up close and personal

Here's the album I made up close and personal.

I used all the paper scraps from my partner, so I have no clue what papers were used. I punched a few swirls and used a leftover diecut bird of paradise.

This is really a friendship album, with lots of pages for photos and journaling, plus tags to write more journaling or put some photos on them.

Oops, there are more trick-or-treaters at my door!

I Dare You Creations

I'm hosting a challenge on Scrapbook Place Yahoo Group. It's called I Dare You and it's a partner swap. All you have to do is send your partner about 10-13 pieces of paper. They'll send you some of theirs as well. Then you create from their leftovers, kind of like a phoenix, rising from the ashes of another's leftover papers.
Anyway, from my partner's stash, I was able to make two cards, two mini cards, a photo mat for scrapping, and a mini-album made from those fabulously free mini envelopes from the school I work at. I even had enough scraps to make tags for the insides of the envies.
Three of the six participants have uploaded photos onto the group album, and a couple are still waiting for their leftovers so they can start creating, but I think the challenge went well. If a participant sends one of their handmades to their partner, they get extra points. I'm going to package mine up now!

New Winter Tilda Mini Album

I found a large quantity of small envelopes, the kind that you put some cash in and donate or send in with your kid at school. I spiral bound the envies to make a mini album, and before I covered the pages, I took off the envie flaps so I could make tags and place them in the pockets. I used Memory Box papers, assorted ribbons and fibers and embellies too numerous and varied to name. I like the way it turned out, and Tilda on the cover is so cute!

Wendy's Christening

These two pages are part of the five new ones I completed this weekend. Again, the photos and some embellishments had been scrapped in one of those old timey grey paper oversized scrapbooks, but the sewer water got to the paper and I could only save parts of the layout. So I "re-scrapped" the event onto 12x12, my standard page size now. The little gown was something the church gifted us with on her Baptism day. The poem I saved and placed on the page described our experience to a tee: it is as if the baby were marrating, and says how she was sprinled with water but water and she didn't agree and she let everyone there know her feelings on the subject. What I most isremember most is forgetting her pacifier at home and the priest poured the water into her eyes and ears and she hollered until the place emptied!

Closer to my 2009 Goal

This is of the second baby shower thrown for me (yes, miss popularity). Both times I was completely surprised and not expecting a thing! Again, I lost a lot of photos, and this event took a big hit. I had girlfriends show up from high school I hadn't seen in twenty years, but no photos to show for it. That's okay, I journaled! LOL
I used basic grey "Blush paper and the journal box was another item from a swap that I received. I get such nice things when I join swaps. I hope the other participants think the same way about my items!
I am getting closer to my 2009 Crafting Goals. When I reach them, I will offer up some yummy blog candy, and since everyone loves the papers I used for the Starbucks coffee cup sleeves album, and the contest card, I guess I'm going to have to feature a pack of it in my Blog Candy. Check me out often, I am so-o-o close to meeting my goals!

Finally New Layouts

I didn't think I was ever going to have time to scrap again! But after two long weeks of cleaning out and cleaning up my scrap room, I can think about scrapping and I have the room to do it!
These photos were originally scrapped not long after my daughter was born, but the old scrapbook took a hit of sewer water when the basement flooded. I and my family were able to save a lot of pics, including these. So now they've been updated, having had to throw away the actually pages they were on originally.
I tried to use the same embellishments, but there weren't many left that were usable. The paper is from the Paper Company, the sticker embellishments from Scrapabilities, and the cute journal box was from a swap.
As I was trying to take pics of the five pages I completed, I found that my memory card was missing from my camera. Long story short, I found it after about two hours of ransacking the trash bags, the vacuum cleaner bag, and crying my eyes out for a good twenty minutes. It was under my stamping pad I keep at my desk!

Winter Magnolia Mini Album

This was fun to make. The pages are actually Starbucks coffee cup sleeves. I covered them with Memory Box winter papers, adhered the bottom, and made assorted tags to put in each "pocket" of the pages. I placed Tilda and Edwin Skating on the cover, and colored them with Copics. All I had to do then was hole-punch each sleeve and attach to a ring.
