The Path of Positivity Turns Blue
The Path of Positivity Challenge Blog continues its study of the many different shades of blue.
They want to see a project that is at least 51% of the overall color scheme. Your project doesn't need to be completely monochromatic so a spattering of other colors is fine. Just be sure that if you would like a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational Creation, over half of the colors in your project must be in the BLUE spectrum.
For my DT make, I created a scrapbook layout using a digi image from Scribbles Designs called Carl Snowboarding. I think the blue papers from the Naturally Cool Collection from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles iare perfect for winter. When the snow builds up and the sky is grey, the world becomes a mass of blues and greys and lines blur between sky and land.
That's why I had to scrapbook my daughter's experimentation, perseverance and triumph in her own snowboarding adventure. She told me that she felt as if, "she could fly off the snow and into the sky." Just like Carl seems to be doing! LOL
Remember, in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of of a $10 gift certificate from Scribbles Designs, one of our guest sponsors this month.
You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win an additional sponsored prize of the Naturally Cool Kit from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles, the second of our guest sponsors this month, for the project chosen as Most Inspiring.
Oh, and one more thing, you need to remember to link up your creation at the Path of Positivity challenge blog to get in on this month's drawing! You've got to be in it to win it!!
So, happy crafting and good luck!

Scribbles Designs 5th Birthday Party Blowout
Once u-pond a time, an
artist named Sandy Sommerfield made a splash
when she introduced Scribbles Designs to the crafting world. That was five
years ago, and since then she has spread her legs
and leaped much farther than she imagined with her cute
digital images. Her family of characters started with Woolley the sheep, Penguin and
Carl the frog. You should visit her pad, the Scribbles Store, where almost 1000 images are offered (some of them FREEBIES).
Right now Scribbles Designs is hosting their 5th
Birthday Party Blowout, with games, freebies, inspiration and prizes. The celebration
is un-frog-getable! You should hop on over to the main challenge blog to find out
how to win each day’s prizes. Don’t frog-get to
leave a comment on my blog- I know that this is one of the ways to qualify for
prizes. Besides, I love comments.
My DT make today is a birthday card (of course) featuring my personal favorite character, Carl. The image is called Carl Party 2, and is sold individually or as a set with several images and multiple sentiments.
One lucky person who leaves a ribbiting comment on my post will win
the digi image I used, Carl Party 2.
In fact, there are FIVE different ways
to WIN individual IMAGES from the sets, or even the FULL SETS themselves. Just HOP OVER TO THE CHALLENGE BLOG on each of the release days to
find out how.
My DT make today is a birthday card (of course) featuring my personal favorite character, Carl. The image is called Carl Party 2, and is sold individually or as a set with several images and multiple sentiments.
My card uses papers from DCWV and Bo Bunny, Stickers from TCP Studios, a vellum sticker from my stash, and the bow is from Martha Stewart.
I printed Carl out twice, thinking I would make two cards today, but the card looked kind of, well, flat. So I colored and cut out the present from my second image and adhered it to the first one with dimensional tape. The banners (Bo Bunny) also use dimensional tape, and the ribbon is a stray piece from my stash.
I hope to see you throughout the Birthday Blowout that started on January 15th with a sneak peek of the new digi releases, like Carl.

Scribbles Designs 5th Birthday Party Blowout Starts Today
Scribbles Designs is celebrating its 5th birthday this
month!
Their very first challenge was January 15, 2013. I was
lucky enough to be asked to join the Design Team in April of 2016 after being a guest DT .
So tomorrow, January 16th, will be the first day of a 3-day
New Release Party showcasing three fabulous new sets that Sandy has been hard
at work putting together!
On each of those days one of the new sets
will be spotlighted along with inspiration from part of the Design Team using
them (I'm up on January 17th).
On each day of the New Release Party you will have the
opportunity to win one of the images from the set. In fact, I and each of the
DT Members and the Guest DTmembers will be giving out the main image we used
on our projects to one lucky person who comments on our individual blogs.
Want more?! So, for your chance to earn THE FULL SET OF
THE DAY, you'll need to leave comments on the New Release post itself as well
as the individual blogs listed that day.
Not enough? Today marks the start of our latest
challenge! Be sure to play along for your chance to win some wonderful prizes!
One Lucky winner will have the opportunity to win ALL THREE of the sets
released this week, by following our instructions carefully!
But wait! There’s more… Over the course of the next
month, the main blog is going to have some limited time freebies, possibly a
flash freebie and some special events you can participate in for your chance to
win additional goodies!
So, get ready to be BLOWN AWAY by all the new images and inspiration
Scribbles Designs has lined up just for you! Be sure to follow the main blog by
email so that you don't miss a thing!
Sheepski Designs is First Sponsor of 2018 for Your Scrapbook Place
Happy New Year! I am finally used to writing 2018 on my correspondence - not bad after only 15 days. And if it's January 15th, it must be midway through a new challenge at Your Scrapbook Place.
This month, the guest sponsor is Sheepski Designs.
I got to play with this cute image called Valentine - Image #64.. After coloring my image, I placed it onto a scenic photo. Doesn't it look like they were made to be there? I had to find the right sentiment for my friends' anniversary this month, one that matched the two young lovers. I think I found it:
My card reads:
My papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles: Purple textured paper from her Glitterati 1 Paper Kit and Patterned Paper 1 from her Bokeh Multi-color 1 Paper Set. My embellishments are from Pixel Scrappers Janet Scott and Sharon Dewi Stolp.
Did you know, if you use a Sheepski Designs image, you get TWO entries into the random draw for this month's sponsored prize? The challenge is ANYTHING GOES, but you've gotta be in it to win it!
Happy crafting, and good luck!

What's NEW with You and Ike's Art
Welcome to a New year, and a New challenge at Ike's World Challenge Blog. The first theme of the year is "What's NEW with YOU?" This optional theme can be interpreted by creating with the New Year in mind, or using New supplies, trying a New technique, or, like me, thinking about a New ME.
And why not? 2017 was a tough year for me, and I say good riddance to it. I lost my husband and my best friend, Sue. My financial future is a little shaky, and I'm looking at a lonely future without hubby. But...
As the New Year begins, I can not only count my blessings, but make a plan for the days and weeks ahead. Creativity is one of the biggest pleasures I have in life, so it's a major part of my planning. That's why I colored (with Copics) an Ike's Art image, called Plotting, and popped her onto a journal page. I like to mix writing with collaging and add some mixed media. So there's a little of everything on my page.
My plans? I want to relax, to focus on what I really want to accomplish this year. I want to be brave and try new things, have adventures and travel. I want to be more forgiving and more thankful, and to give back with my time and my talent. I especially want to become healthier and to heal, working through my grief, taking the bad days with the good.
And I want YOU to join in this new challenge for your chance to win a gift certificate to Ike's Art Store. AND, if you use an Ike's Art image, you get 2 entries for your 1 creation - cards, ATCs, mixed media, altered art - just create!! And Link it up at Ike's World Challenge Blog.
Good luck and Happy Crafting!

The Path of Positivity Celebrates Shades of Blue
This month the Path of Positivity Blog welcomes the New Year with a new challenge; in fact, a new year of optional themes all centered around shades of different colors or sets of colors. For my DT card today, I created a digital card using papers and elements from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, one of two guest sponsors for the first challenge of 2018.
I used Fun Shape pp from Naturally Cool Papers 2 set and Blue Glitter paper from Glitterati Paper Kit, as well as Flower Brad from Naturally Cool Brads Set to create my digital card. The sentiment I chose is a great way to start out the new year, by "attacking each day with enthusiasm", don't you think? In fact, I think I'll print it out as a wall poster, too, to remind me to give it all I have each and every day.
If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that you are included in the draw for the prize for Most Inspirational. The challenge also asks you how this month's colour makes you feel, if you'd like to share that with them. What kinds of feelings does the colour BLUE evoke in you? You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on the main blog post if you'd like.
Remember, in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging
in some way.
You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of a $10 gift certificate from Scribbles Designs, the second guest sponsor this month.
You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win an additional sponsored prize of the Naturally Cool Kit from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles, for the project chosen as Most Inspiring.

Getting Frosty at the 12 Months of Christmas Blog
Happy New Year! It's a fresh new year, and a fresh new start to your Christmas card stash. If you happen to live in the Northern Hemisphere of this beautiful planet, January is one of the coldest months of the year. If you live in Chicago in the USA, then you have woken up on this first day of 2018 to a frosty, frigid, snow-covered scene as well. The ground might be layered with snow, icicles hanging from the eves and the windows decorated by Jack Frost himself. Of course, with Mother Nature off her meds, tomorrow could well be a moderate 50 degrees Fahrenheit with neighborhood kids riding the new bikes Santa gave them.
But let's say that January remains your normal "dead of winter month" with Jack Frost nipping at your nose. That is why this month the 12 Months of Christmas Challenge Blog offers the optional challenge to have some sort of frosty element on your card (icicles, snowflakes, snow, frost, etc.). If you choose to create with this theme, you will be entered in the drawing for this month's sponsored prize of a $10.00 gift certificate from Scribbles Designs. Please remember to place the letters FT after your name when linking your project so that we know you have followed the theme.
You don't have to follow the optional theme, and if you link up two or more cards this month, you will receive one of the featured patterned papers created by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
For my DT make, I got to play with a Scribbles Designs digi image called Jack Frost. If you've visited my blog lately, I've been making a lot of note card sets, and I don't expect it to go away soon. Today's note cards are again ATC-sized, perfect to add to a gift, slip into a book, or distribute to co-workers or party guests. The inside is blank so I can write personal holiday messages to those receiving my cards.
That's it for today, except to remind you to link up your Christmas cards to the 12 Months of Christmas Blog for your chance to win prizes (and to grow next year's Christmas card stash)!

Challenge Midway at Scribbles Designs Points toward the North Pole
Scribbles Designs Blog is at the halfway point of their newest challenge, North Pole. I played with this cute digi image from the Scribbles Store called Elves at Work. After coloring my elf, I popped him onto some festive patterned paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. I framed both the image and my sentiment with another Decosse paper, placing them both on another fun paper! The Santa Hat sitting atop my sentiment is also from Scribbles Designs. In fact, here are all the things that went into my card:
Scribbles Designs: Elves at Work & Santa Hat
Papers: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' Elves & Snowfall pp from "Welcome to the North Pole Paper Kit", Olive Drab from "Yuletide Textures Paper Kit", &
Checkered pp from "12 months of Christmas Papers"
Digital Elements: Pixel Scrappers Marisa Lerin's Stitching #41; Dreamweaver Design's Pine Branch & Poinsettia from Dec 2016 DigiExpress Silver Bells Blog Train
You know, it's not too early to start building your stash of Christmas cards, so why not join in the challenge for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Store? You have until January 14th to link up. Good luck and happy crating!
