I love a good pun, especially when I create a card. The inside continues the punny theme, as it reads: "Celebrate 'til the cows come home".

24 Days of Christmas - Day 19 - Merry & Bright Wall Decor
Hi, crafters!! Less than a week away now--are you ready for Christmas? I have another Christmas decor project to show you today. I used a well-discounted 4th of July metal star decoration that I had bought at Hobby Lobby eons ago. By the time I got to the store, the discount was 90%!! I just can't pass up a good deal like that. I've used it for the last three summers, hanging it on my front porch.
Today I gave it new life by first painting the red, white and blue star with white acrylic paints. After it dried, I added the words Merry & Bright using a green and red Posca paint pens (these are so nice if you don't have a Cricut). I put a protective coat of gloss varnish on the star, adding an outline of gold adhesive-backed gems while the varnish was still wet. I just don't trust the sticky backing of gems, especially when the project will be outside in the elements.
I sprinkled some shiny clear glitter, using up the last of my Stampin' Up glitter I had bought before the turn of the century! I don't normally use glitter on projects because it gets everywhere, but Christmas often calls for the shimmer and shine...
I'm going to hang it under the front porch light so the light catches the glitter. So now 'm down one Independence Day decoration, but have a new Christmas one. I'd call that an even trade, wouldn't you?
P.S. (Okay, you caught me. When I painted and decorated my star, I didn't realize I had turned it so that the chain with which to hang it was not centered. But it doesn't look bad).

31 Days of All Hallows Eve - Day 27 - Pumpkin Succulent
Halloween is in the air! 'tis almost the witching hour, so let your crafty magi flow over blogland! My mission today was to use up more Halloween craft supplies, especially those styrofoam pumpkins from the Dollar Store. Mine was white, so I didn't have to paint it.
I rescued a fake succulent I had bought from the thrift store for 50 cents and pulled it out of its cheap plastic pot. I dug a hole in the top of my pumpkin base and hot glued it in place. Next I layered fabric leaves around the plant, adding flowers, orange and black deco balls and jewels to fill in the gaps so you can't see where the plant ends and the pumpkin begins.
I finished off my Halloween decor with a leftover piece of lace, adding adhesive jewels to it for some shiny. It is almost 4 inches wide and 5 inches high with the succulent standing tall. I love how it turned out, and I spent more time sorting thru my faux leaves and flowers than I did on putting the project together!
Are you ready for the BIG DAY? Got your costume and/or makeup at hand? Got enough candy to pass out? Is your home decorated? Just four more days!! Meanwhile, find out your Halloween name from below...

31 Days of All Hallows Eve - Day 21 - Day of the Dead Skull
Today I decorated a Dollar Tree skull and created a sugar skull for Day of the Dead. Anyway, this holiday is getting more popular in the US, especially with movies from Disney like the "Book of Life" and "Coco". It originates from Mexico, and really is more related to the Catholics' All Saints Day and, more so, All Souls Day. It is a day to honor those who have passed before us, except instead of going to church to pray for their souls, families gather together either at home or where their loved ones are buried. They celebrate with flowers and food and bring up good memories, celebrating their lives so they won't be forgotten.
The skull I found was colored with a bokeh-effect over the color silver. I filled the eyes with adhesive jewels, then surrounded each eye with a circle of yellow jewels, and another of pink pearls. After looking it over, I decided it was much too sparkly, so I attached a flower into each socket - much better...
As I filled the face of the skull, I added jeweled flowers, lines of pearls and jewels and finally flowers to cover the scalp. I had to use my Posca paint marker to color the nose socket black, as well as outlining the teeth. My partner, the hot glue gun, was a huge help! LOL
Since the teeth were the swirly rainbow on silver color, I painted them white. My sugar skull, named after special candy sold only on November 1-2, is a bright, beautiful decoration. If I display it my window, it really sparkles in the sun!

Flipping Coins at Scribbles Designs
My card today is created with a Scribbles digi called #417 Dog Bone. I have a box of craft supplies that have not yet been organized, and have been pulling out images, papers and embellishments from it and creating cards all week. I was tired of coloring realistic looking animals, so I started coloring dogs and cats crazy colors, like teal and even rainbow. But I found everything I needed for my project here, even the envelope, even though it was a real challenge this month to create a card from the box. That's because Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog has a fresh, entertaining theme for crafters,
Do you have a coin? Don't worry, you can keep it! You will need it to play along by flipping it FIVE times to discover how you will create your project this month for Scribbles. Talk about improvisation!!
Are you ready? Every time you flip the coin, it should land either heads or tails. The chart below has FIVE rows, with both a HEADS and a TAILS column. Your first flip reveals which column you will use in the first row. For example, I rolled TAILS, so I "created a card/project with at least 3 layers. Flip again and find out if you need to (HEADS) make a rectangle or square card/project or (TAILS) make a shaped card/project. Keep flipping and you have the "recipe" for your project. I highlighted my flips for the card I made:

Bling, Bling
So I brought out some supplies: adhesive jewels, strands of pearls, strands of beads, leather cement and jewelry glue, gold and silver cording, etc. I visited designer purse websites. Hey, if you want to see crazy blinged-out purses, just Google couture accessories and handbags. You'll go nuts (and laugh a lot. At least I did!)
I decided on my own pattern based on my supplies. I really wanted to finish the edges of my bag, so I went with the strands of twisted metallic-colored seed beads. The leather cement worked better on that. It stuck well, and was still flexible. I had more of the same strands, and my strap was created by linking pieces of leather that looked like figure eights. I found I could weave the same beaded strands through the entire length of my strap. One end went down into a side pocket so that I didn't have to worry about cutting it and having all these seed beads flying off. At the other end I attached a key ring and created a tassel from gold cording (see photo below).
I received the leather kit from an organization called Help Heal Veterans. They receive donated money and craft supplies and kits and offer veterans several kits at their storefront. I've volunteered my time to teach a card making workshop there for veterans that was well received. The staff often make and display samples from the kits that are available, and I noticed that there was no sample for this messenger bag, so I offered to bring it to the store so they could display it.
If you have any extra money and are looking for a new place to help out, check out Help Heal Veterans. You can go online, and many VA Hospitals will have a HHV storefront located nearby. I came in one day looking for a little relief from taking care of my hubby while he was living with ALS. I can never thank them enough for their support and their offerings.

Getting Ready for Christmas at Ike's World Challenge Blog
This month Ike's World Challenge Blog asks crafters to create something on the lines of "Getting ready for Christmas." I like a well-decorated home for this holiday, so I created a card featuring a previous year's Christmas freebie image from Ike's Art Store, which just happens to be a lovely table decoration (it doesn't go on the dinner table since that will be over-weighted by platters of holiday fare).
Since both my image and my patterned paper are design busy, I kept embellishments at a minimum. After coloring my image with Copics, I added a little Stickles for sparkle, a few tiny jewels for same, and some faux stitching that makes a nice homey border.
How did you do on your holiday cards? Did you make your goal? Are you short a bit? I may just have an excess this year! I'll either save them for next year, or find more people to give them to. That's using some Christmas spirit, isn't it? LOL
Don't forget to link up whatever you choose to create with the main blog for your last chance to win your choice of free digis from Ike's Art (last chance in 2019, that is!). Happy Holidays to all the lovely and talented ccrafters out there!

Curiouser and Curiouser at the Path of Positivity
Hello, crafters! Curious as to what I've created today? Well, funny you should ask, as Curiosity is the optional twist this month at the Path of Positivity challenge blog. When we are very young, we have an insatiable curiosity of what things are, how they work, if they taste good, how they feel, what they're for, etc. Too bad most of us grow up losing that endless curiosity.
You'll find the same attitude in pets, like puppies and kittens. Everything is new to them. There is a saying that "Curiosity killed the cat." Lucky we aren't cats, isn't it?
My card today features a Scribbles Designs digi image called Dog with Bone. Puppies are especially fearless, being more interested in satisfying their curiosity than worrying about things like effort, fear or judgment. He's just happy to have discovered a bone in his exploration, and if he hadn't found the bone, he would have been almost as happy finding something else to occupy his attention. I think I've used the perfect sentiment, printed in Nubian Shadow font and colored, as is my image, with Copics.
The challenge at the Path of Positivity blog runs through the end of the month. The twist is optional, meant to inspire you to create. Here are the prizes offered from our sponsors:

Summer is Sizzlin' at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog
My DT make today highlights friendship and summer fun. The Scribbles images that I used are slightly transparent and are behind and to the side of the words. Those images are called #54 To the Beach, #848 Flip Flops. The designer paper is also from Scribbles Design, part of the collaborated effort of Scribbles and Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. The paper is from the set called DDD SD Sizzlin' Summer, Burt patterned paper. Aren't those rubber duckie flotation rings quirky?
What could be better than drifting in the cooling water than with a friend? Sizzlin' Summer happens to be the Scribbles Designs' challenge theme. In order to win any prizes, your project must feature some summer lovin' in some way. I'd love to see you at the main blog, so don't forget to link your project for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Designs Store.

The Most Unusual Friendships are often the Strongest
I am proud to call this woman one of my very best friends. Through our shared experiences with mental health (ours and our kids) we bonded so strongly that almost 20 years later, we are still tight.
My card today reflects this friendship, and how I feel about our relationship. She feels that I have supported, cared for and loved her so much, and I feel the same. She's going through a rough patch right now, dealing with issues of loss recently. Besides the phone calls and the emojis added to my texts, I want to send her this card. We both have dogs, and both are allergic to cats, so my creation is very much in tune to us.
I featured a Sandra Caldwell image from her Babycakes DND Etsy Store. My cardstock haf a perfect circle in which to frame my Copic-colored image, but I made an error in cutting out my image. Men will use Duct tape; crafters will use Washi tape!! I love the geometric feel of this card.Just a little (okay, a lot) of jeweled bling to make it shine and I finished off my card with my sentiment.
How do you fix something that wasn't supposed to end up the way it did? Washi tape? Ink? Do you change your card to fit the error, or start all over again? Let me know!! and as always, happy crafting!

Sheepski Designs Sponsors Your Scrapbook Place
I made what I would call a CAS card. I have trouble with them, as I don't like to leave a lot of white space. So I covered half my card with patterned paper, and bordered each side with faux stitching in coordinating colors.
I cut out a plush rug for my kitty to sleep on, nice and cozy. I blinged up my card with a couple strips of adhesive jewels, and added a hand-lettered sentiment. AND managed to leave the rest of the card alone!! CAS cards will never be easy for me, but I'm taking it one step, or rather one card, at a time.
Meanwhile, Sheepski Designs is offering a gift certificate to the store to one random winner. In order to qualify for the prize, you must remember to link your cards to Your Scrapbook Place. You have the whole month, so good luck and happy crafting!

A Coffee Addiction with Oddball Art Stamps
The image is called #46 Creepy Cute Mummy and I got it FREE!! In fact, I get a free image every week. All I had to do is sign up for the Oddball Art weekly newsletter: Creepy Cute Chronicles.
Anyway, I've been playing around with hybrid cards for a while now. A hybrid card is one which mixes digital and handmade elements/supplies to create your art.
For today's card, I positioned my thirsty mummy image onto a digital paper and printed it twice. Then I colored the images, fussy cutting the Copic-colored mummy and popping it onto my card base with dimensional dots. All credits for the items I used to create my card are below.

I'm a Little Odd Myself...
Luckily, we are all odd in some way, and I decided to create a card using my uniquely odd creativity with an image from Oddball Art by Lizzie Love. I adore her uniquely cute and/or creepy images. This one is called Image 467 Mummy Mermaid & Octopus. I used Photoshop to position it onto another image called #470 Dead Sea Bed. Then I printed it twice!
I colored my mermaid, her tiny mummy friend and the sea bed with Copics on both images, then fussy-cut one to place on the other with dimensional dots. I used glitter gel pen for the bubbles. To create a more underwater feel to my card, I crunched up aqua-colored tissue paper and glued it all onto a card base, then framed my image before popping it on.
Besides the sentiment (my own), I added some trim at the bottom of my image and my card is finished. The font I used for the sentiment is called "Be Perky."

Pave your Path with Happiness
My card asks for the best thing a person can give or receive that will spread happiness - a HUG. Of course, I had to put a Twist on my card by using a Cactus asking for a hug, but sometimes it can be difficult to hug a grumpy person. Give them two; they must need them!!
Of course, the Twist is just for fun. As long as your project is positive, encouraging or inspirational, it will qualify for prizes (see below).
I used a digi image from Limited Runs, one of the guest sponsors at the Path of Positivity this month.
The image is aptly named "Cactus" and can be found in the Flower section of the STORE. Limited Runs is also on Facebook with a Freebie for every 50 Followers, AND also a Monthly Progressive Challenge Blog.
- Prizes this month include:
It's a well-documented fact that everyone needs at least five hugs a day to stay happy. So don't be surprised if, when we meet on the Path, I stop to give you a HUG. Everyone can stand to add a little happiness to their lives, and the lives of others. See you there!
All Dressed Up at Your Scrapbook Place
My card is filled with die-cuts and jewels. I found a baggie with them in it, as well as the gold and black paper, and ran with it. How about you? Do you have any mystery bags in your craft area? I'm doing a clean-out (again) and am finding all kinds of goodies. You never know what you might have forgotten...
Meanwhile, you have all month to create and link up your project at Your Scrapbook Place for your chance to win prizes from the Guest sponsor, All Dressed Up.

Stella Says Sketch at Bugaboo Stamps
I am again trying to make some headway into decreasing my stash, so all papers are snips and snaps of former projects. I colored my morning glory with Copics that still had ink in them, and used a couple punches for the sentiment. All the jewels were leftover on the same clear piece of acetate that I could finally throw away in the trash.
I designed my card for Bugaboo Stamps "Stella Says Sketch" challenge #705.
Using a little artistic license, I turned my sketch onto its side. The challenge is up until Sunday, March 17 for your chance to win prizes. Here are some other Challenges I am Entering:
