Let's Eat Cake at Ike's World Challenge Blog

It's time to get your sweet tooth on at Ike's World Challenge Blog. The optional theme is "Let's Eat Cake" and I found a fairy tale cake to inspire my card. The cake is real, made by CandyCakeWedding.com and found on Pinterest. It makes the perfect background for the Ike's Art image, Tinky,  to fly by with magical birthday wishes for a little girl I know.
My card is 100% digital, using the following:

Surround Yourself with Music at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog

Today I have TWO projects to showcase for my DT make for the Path of Positivity. When the optional challenge has to do with MUSIC, I can get easily inspired. For the first:
Pat here with scrapbook layout for this month's Surround Yourself with Music challenge theme over at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. I've been on a leave of absence, but managed to create one of several pages for my 25th Anniversary layout (better late than never).
I was inspired to (finally) create my layout because of the beautiful music I fell in love with while vacationing in the Islands. It's funny how just one song can bring back a thousand memories. That's why music is so important in my life, especially now. I recently lost my hubby, so when a "slack key guitar song" pops up on my iPod, I am flooded with memories of our dream vacation together. I can almost feel the ocean breezes caressing my cheeks and hear the waves lapping at the shore, while Bill and I walked hand in hand along the beaches.
So, of course I played my Hawaiian music while creating the first of several scrapbook pages using digi images from one of this month's sponsors, Imagine That! Digis by Kris. The images include Hula Girl and the Aloha sentient from the Hula Girl set and Peacock Spread from the Pretty Peacocks set.

On to the SECOND:
I love this digi image from POP's second guest sponsor, Limited Runs. It's called Juggling Snowman. As for me, I can't juggle to save my life, but I've always dreamed I could. My snowman here is a pro, and is showing off on my card. I colored him with Copics, and popped him onto a beautiful background paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles from her Snowfest Paper Kit. The sentiment is also from DDD.

All the challenges at the Path of Positivity are Anything Goes, but we also offer an optional theme. This month we want to know, "How does MUSIC influence your life or inspire your art?"

If you would like a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational Creation, Choose a song that inspires positivity in you and share the song (or music genre) and the inspired project with us! We can't wait to feel the upbeat vibes you have to share with us!

If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize. We also ask that you please leave a comment letting us know how your creation relates to the concept of music and what you learned about yourself along the way, if it isn't clearly written somewhere else in your post.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of a $10 gift certificate from Imagine That Digistamp, one of our sponsors this month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $10 gift certificate from Limited Runs, provided by the second of our guest sponsors this month.

Snowing at Ike's World Challenge Blog

Now that the northern hemisphere is shivering with the first chill of the season, it's the perfect time for an optional challenge theme of "Let It Snow" at Ike's World Challenge Blog. I used several images from Ike's Store to create the winter scene on my card: Snow Scene, Inuit Girl and Scared-y Cat. All my papers and snowflakes are from my stash. The pearls are too, and it was an unopened package. Lucky me!
Whether the weather inspires your next card or not, pop on by Ike's World Challenge blog and link it up for your chance to win free digital images from the store!!
Fun fact: Here in the USA, they say that if it snows before Thanksgiving in the States, it will be a white Christmas...

Challenges I am Entering:
Daring Cardmakers - Warm Woolen Mittens (winter clothing)
Fabrika Fantasy - Winter Time
Naughty or Nice - Walking in a Winter Wonderland

A Star Struck Christmas at the 12 Months of Christmas Blog

November already?! Is your stash of Christmas cards complete? If not, the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up Blog is the perfect motivation for you! Their themes are optional, but this month it's "Star Struck Christmas", so you feature a star prominently on your card, then you  will be in the running foe not  one but 2 sponsor prizes!!
The sponsor this month is Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, and she has come up with a beautiful set of papers called Starry Sky.

I used one of those papers as a background, while framing it with paper from another set called "A Grungy Christmas". I wanted to make a simple card, so my sentiment is the  focus, framed with yet another paper from Decosse's from the "Glitterati" set. All these papers are on her blog for sale.
The sentiment was a freebie from a couple years ago. I added a couple stars using a template from Elif Sahin over at Pixel Scrappers and my card is ready to print and mail out.
Papers: DDD's Starry Sky Star 5, Glitterati Red, A Grungy Christmas Burgundy & Green,
Sentiment: DDD
Elements: Pixel Scrapper Elif Sahin's Folded Star Template 1
It's your turn now to create your Christmas card. Here are the details:

The Basics

  • Anyone can link up as many Christmas and/or December holiday themed cards (including Happy New Year's cards) throughout the month with an ANYTHING GOES theme.
  • Every person who has linked up a MINIMUM of two (2) cards will be eligible to receive a specially designed Christmas-themed digital paper.
  • Each month there will be an OPTIONAL theme to follow. Anyone who submits a card adhering to the monthly theme, will have the chance to win a prize from that month's guest sponsor.
  • ALL entries adhering to our basic rules also have the opportunity to win a mini pack of digi papers each month as well.
  • Every holiday card you submit to the link up, earns you one chance to win a special digital Christmas kit that will be offered up after the year is complete.
Remember, the OPTIONAL THEME this month is STAR STRUCK CHRISTMAS. Let's see some stars on your cards!!

Photo Inspiration at Scribbles Designs

I am loving these cute word art images from Scribbles Designs. They make the most awesome note cards, and who doesn't need a few dozen note cards to say Hi, Thinking of You, Let's Do Lunch or even Thank You?
Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog offers a photo for inspiration this month, and I have pulled the colors from it for my set of cards. The Scribbles image I used is called Fab Friend, and the designer papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Bokeh Paper Kit. I think they're a perfect match, don't you?
You have until November 14th to find inspiration from the photo below and link your card or project up at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Store. See you there!
