Walking the Path of Positivity with Friends

Halfway through the month and I have another DT make for the Path of Positivity Challenge blog. Walking through life is hard when you're alone, so be open to making and keeping good friends. They way to do this is to BE a good friend.
My card above shows three best friends. They grew up together and are still very close. They are, in fact, sisters. My sisters!  People say you can't choose your family, but I'm happy to say you can become best friends with them, as I have with Kathy, who lives in Germany now, and Dee, who lives just a ten minute walk from my house.
I went kind of crazy with my leftover pieces of papers and bits of embellishments, but when the three of us get together, it's crazy fun, so the colors and design of my card truly represent our relationship.
The Path of Positivity Challenge blog offers monthly Anything Goes challenges that ask for projects that are positive, encouraging and inspiring. A Twist is also offered and this month the Twist has been Friendship. So whether you create a card for your BFF, or a canvas that a friend will love to hang on his or her wall, link it up to the main challenge blog for your chance to win prizes from the guest sponsors:

Luna Girl Sponsors 12 Months of Christmas Blog

It's the 15th of the month, which means it is the midway point in the Anything Christmas Goes challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Blog. The optional twist is to Add at least THREE brads, buttons or bows, or a combination of all three to your card, and the guest sponsor is Luna Girl.  All projects qualify for a chance to win the sponsored prize from Luna Girl.

Luna Girl has the most beautiful collection of vintage photos ever. I love cruising through their assortment and collections, especially their collage sheets. I got to play with the collage sheet called Winter Wonder to create my holiday card today. Since my sister lives with her husband in Berlin, I wanted to personalize their card, so I wrote the sentiment in German.

I didn't forget the theme of the challenge! You can see my red bow at the top of my sentiment as well as my 2 brads. I also used papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' Snow Much Fun Mini Kit and the  Green Square Frame from Holiday Hoopla. If you follow the twist, you will have a chance to win the digital paper pack offered up by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

So let's get going on our stash of holiday cards NOW, instead of waiting until October or November!! I already have 2 cards created, with more on the way! And don't forget to link your cards up with the 12 Months of Christmas blog for your chance to win! See you there!

Yum! Yum! Scribbles Deigns Challenges the Foodie in You!

This month Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog celebrates something we all can't live without -- FOOD! Crafters are asked to create a project featuring some kind of food (or drinks). My daughter works at a bakery called "Nothing Bundt Cakes". They literally sell Bundt cakes only, but they are SO,SO YUMMY, that we've both gained a few pounds here and there (and all over, so if you've lost weight, you know where to find it).
I played with a Scribbles Designs image called "Jujubes". It is a free image so click on the link to get your free image! Well, the candies looked liked the little "bundtini's" that the bakery sells, and I wanted to thank the owner, Cindi, so I made her a card with some of the cakes. Unfortunately, I kept messing up the still-wet white puffy paint I used to "frost" my bundtini's.
They say you should  learn something from every mistake you make, so I came up with a clever (I  think) pun for the sentiment:
"I'm no froster, bundt I can still..."
The inside reads:                                  "...give you Sweet Thanks"
By the way, the froster is "one who frosts the bundts". LOL And I sure made a mess of mine (good thing I'm not employed there).

I colored my image with Copics, framed it with a doily inked in SU Lemonade Yellow, adhered it with dimensional tape to leftover designer paper and added the pink flourish border because it reminded me of frosting. The first part of my sentiment and a single paper flower finishes off my card front.

Whether you create a card, altered art, or something else, don't forget to link it up to Scribbles designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free digis from the Scribbles Store (and don't forget to grab some freebies while you're there).

Stella Says Sketch at Bugaboo Stamps

I had sometime to relax this past weekend and colored up a Bugaboo Stamps image I picked up at the STORE recently. It's called simply "Morning Coffee." I was struck by how much the image looked how I felt before that first drop of caffeine hit my system. I think many of us can relate.

I am again trying to make some headway into decreasing my stash, so all papers are snips and snaps of former projects. I colored  my morning glory with Copics that still had ink in them, and used a couple punches for the sentiment. All the jewels were leftover on the same clear piece of acetate that I could finally throw away in the trash.

I designed my card for Bugaboo Stamps "Stella Says Sketch" challenge #705.
Using a little artistic license, I turned my sketch onto its side. The challenge is up until Sunday, March 17 for your chance to win prizes. Here are some other Challenges I am Entering:

Keep It Clean and Simple at Ike's World Challenge Blog

When I saw the set of Sock Puppets that Ike is offering at her STORE, I knew there had to be some good conversations between these dog Sockies. So for this month's Lean and Simple (CAS) theme at Ike's World challenge Blog, I found their perfect introduction to my blog.
I colored two of the four Sockies with my Copics, adhering them onto a bit of cardstock to frame them before popping them onto my card base. I did the same with my sentiment, and kept embellishments to 4 small black jewels. I knew my sentiment needed a CAS card for impact. Did I make you smile?
If not, I hope the Sockies did. And the best time to craft is when you're smiling. So I expect to see your projects at Ike's World Challenge Blog. Good luck and happy crafting!

Friendship on the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog

What could be better than wandering down the path of positivity? Wandering with a friend, of course! This month the optional Twist to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog's Anything Goes theme is FRIENDSHIP. Make your bestie a card that celebrates your relationship. Of course, the Twist is just for fun. As long as your project is positive, encouraging or affirming, it will qualify for this month's prizes!
I made a card for my bestie. I think the second line would describe her more than the first, but who's keeping track? Although I do wonder...Do I attract crazies, or do I make them that way?? LOL No matter, we get along just fine whichever way it is!
For my card I used a digi image from one of our guest sponsors, Bugaboo Stamps.
The image is called "Make It Snappy - Friends." Really, all I could have done is colored the image and adhered it to a card base and be done with it. But then again, that's not quite my style. So out came my container of metals, and I found a piece of chain and some girlfriend charms to hang. I think I spent more time getting the chain to stick in all the right places than to color up my image, but I do like the effect!

Prizes for this challenge are as follows:
  • A $12.00 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designsfor the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
Hope you've got some time to create this month, cause I love to see all the projects that come in. Just don't forget to link up to the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. LOL See you there, and good luck!

Piling on the Layers at Scribbles Designs

The challenge at Scribbles Designs is at its midway point, so grab up your papers and supplies and pick up your Muse and "get 'er done." I chose to make a Z-fold  card and used a Scribbles Designs image called #85 Heart String.
I went to town on the paper layers for my card using leftover stash. When it came time to place the Copic colored image on my front panel, it was too wide! So I did what I usually do for most of my images - I fussy-cut it and framed it with the same orange cardstock as the rest of the papers. The middle panel is actually just orange cardstock with three strips of narrow Washi tape.
I used a punch on the two ends of my sentiment panel, which I really love to read. It says:
"Be yourself today. You look beautiful like that."
Remember, crafters only have until the 14th of the month to link their layered (at least three) cards to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for their chance to win free digis of their choice from the Scribbles Store. I like FREE, don't you?
Have fun and happy crafting, peeps!

Rick St Dennis Sponsors Your Srapbook Place

Your Scrapbook Place Challenge Blog has a new Anything Goes challenge this month. My DT make today today features an image from Rick St.Dennis, their guest sponsor.
I love his images, which run from the cute and quirky to the dark and delicious. This image is called Lady of the Roses. I colored her with a combination of Copics and gel pens. I popped her onto paper left over from another project (she fit perfectly into one of the patterned blocks), cutting out and adding some pieces from more leftovers to add some dimension to "neighboring" blocks, and adding my sentiment (clear sticker) and some jewels for embellishment.

So make sure whatever you craft this month, remember to link up with Your Scrapbook Place Challenge blog for your chance to win a prize from the guest sponsor
