Another Layout of Beautiful Bella

Watching my girl learn to use silverware was a stitch. After attempting breakfast with a fork, she switched to a spoon, pausing long enough to pose for the camera? She finally got too hungry for silverware and used her fingers. Is it just me or is she adorable?! LOL

I Love DCWV Green Stack

Not only is the paper from the DCWV Green Stack so retro cute, but the box of chipboard embellies is great! The little skunk chipboard actually caused me to title this page "Lil Stinker". I made two pages during the Saturday crop I went to, as well as the cards that I wrote about in the previous post. I got a headache I couldn't get rid of, so I left early. But I finished what I had packaged to work on, so I accomplished what I set out for.

New Cards Created

I went to a crop yesterday in Woodstock. Although I only scrapped two pages, I made 18 new cards for a swap on one of my groups. I have three places in the card exchange: birthday, any occasion and get well. I used a Whiff of Joy stamp for the birthday cards. That mouse is so cute! I colored him with copics, glitzed with Stickles and framed the image on cardstock. I used Glimmer Mist to color my tags after I stamped the sentiment
I found this stamp in the clearance bin at HobbyLobby years ago. I used my brayer on glossy white cardstock to get the rainbow effect as the base of the card. The I punched the corners of the cardstock mat behind the image, colored her with the same color as the paper, and added the ribbon and felt flower for embellishment.

I decided to use this eye-popping paper for this card after I backed the image onto the burgundy-colored cardstock. The image is from a StampinUp stamp set, the very first one I bought at least ten years ago! I colored with copics and used Liquid Glass to bring out the heart pills. Besides the flowers, I used Skittles to pop out a line of dots on the cards.
So now I'm ready to mail out my cards for the swap, and lucky me I made one extra in each category!

Tilda Card for June Mingle swap

I love cupcake Tilda, she is so sweet. You can't tell in the photo but I glitzed Tilda with some subtle stickles, as well as using Liquid Glass on her shoes, hairbows and the spoon. I glitzed the card with a line of tiny pink sticky jewels going across and vertical. Looks like I need to make about fifteen cards for a swap due to be mailed next week. So I may or may not get to actuall scrapping at the 12-hour crop. But at least I'm creating, and my brain needs the diversion. Lots of work and family drama.

Camp Care Package PBA

When Wendy goes to camp, her friends and family fo with her in the form of a paper bag album chock full of laughs, love and encouragement. Here are a few of the inside pages, reminding
her that she is special and that she is loved. I got my hands on a package of dark teal paper bags, I can't remember where I got them, but they "frame" each page so that the whole

album isn't too bulky. On this page, dad wrote her a note and attached a pic of him and her on our Mexico vacation earlier in the year. I used a lot of summer quotes as well, and gave her friends tags on which to write a short message to her.
I love making PBA's, and have given them out to nerw moms and dads, birthday girls and friends.

Finally Cracked the Scrapper's Block

I have not scrapped a single page since the weekend scrapping retreat last April! Every time I walked into my craft room, I just didn't have the motivation to do a layout. I could make cards, and I made plenty! But scrapping? Couldn't touch the photos, even.
Now it's over, and it took a photo of my daughter at her 8th grade dance to do it. I had volunteered to take tickets for the dance, and was able to cadge a few for scrapping. I used one in its entirety, and cut the rest into small repeating journal blocks that highlighted the theme of the dance, as well as serves as the title. I tried pulling the pink from Wendy's dress down to the journaling blocks with ribbon, as well as framing the admission ticket. The stitching is drawn on using a glitter black pen.
That's the good news. And there's better news. I have more photos to scrap, so I hope I've pulled myself out of that scrapper's hell and I'm back to working on layouts on a regular basis.

Back from the (Living) Dead

In other wors, wow, has it been busy at work!! I don't get a minute to check groups or emails until I'm home, and then there's the pesky housework, dinner, laundry, grocery shopping stuff added in.
I was finally able to grab some time to make Wendy's Thank You cards. Her graduation party is next Sunday, so I think I'm ahead of the game.
I used a page from her Hello Kitty coloring book to get the cheerleader HK, then whited out the word cheer and replaced it with the year "2009". I copied it onto both white and pink cardstock, as well as pink patterned paper. Then came the tedious part. Cutting out the HKs, then cutting out each piece I wanted to use on each base. I used pink cardstock for the card, and used Sparkle Versamark to stamp the background grad caps. I used black StazOn ink for the "Thank You" SU stamp on the left side, and adhered HK to the right side. I used Stickles for minimal glitz on the card.
So she has eight cards made for family and good friends who will give her a little something at the party. I'm still trying to get some time to make a Hell Kitty centerpiece from the HK tidbits I have at hand. We also bought HK plates for cake. She's in Hello Kitty heaven!!
Hopefully I've dug myself out of the hole and can spenmd more time creating and blogging. I even printed some photos to scrap, but they may have to gather dust until the party's over!
