Never More...

It's overcast today, and I feel in tune to the weather. So I created a darker project than I usually do. I am having so much fun with my backgrounds from the Doll House and my images from Ike's Art. This is a mixed media canvas, done both digitally and with paper, ink and whatever happened to be lying on my craft table.
The image is Poe Bust from Ike's Art. I placed it digitally on a background paper by artist Marta Vaneck called Scene Papers #03. I cut out the window and added a piece of some Tim Hotlz collage paper. I inked and embossed the extra raven from a set from QKD. The quote is of course from the poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. Other patterned papers used are from Close to my Heart.I painted the foam core base a fire engine red and wiped gently for a textured look, although my papers almost covered it all up!
I sprinkled on some flowers, jewels, bow and brad, and was compelled to add a feather (from a stranger, tap-tap-tapping on my own window sill, perhaps?).
My craftiness knows very few bounds. I like  to make cards, layouts and ATCs, and dabble in water colors and mixed media and altered art. In celebration of my Birthday Blowout Blog Candy games, I'd like to ask you today:

What do you dabble in? What have you not tried yet but would like to? Leave me a comment about your craftiness for today's prize package. And as always, have fun crafting!

Challenges I am Entering:
Quoth the Raven - Tic Tac Poe (Flowers, Poe & Feather)

Craft My Life challenges - Wings
Love to Scrap challenges - Stripes or Dots

In answer to your Birthday Bash question.... I like to dabble in most things - mixed media, drawing, painting, digi art etc and I just got into Journaling.

I would love to try wax resist work or that thing with melting crayons... I've never done either of those :-D xxxxx

What a brilliant mixed media piece! I love the detail and the depth you achieved here. So glad you are a part of QTR challenge this month. I love making cards and art journaling. Although I use paints sometimes (usually for backgrounds), I really want to PAINT something!

This is a wonderful mixed media piece. I love the window cut-out. When we were looking at houses, we saw one with one bathroom devoted to The Raven. It was a little overwhelming in lifesize! I am just starting to dabble in mixed media--nothing as elaborate as this. I'm also signed up for a painting class, we'll see how that will turn out. Great celebration.

I figured I better come over and get today's task done before it gets any later in the day and I forget.

Love your mixed media piece. Great choice of colour going with that bold red and the feather adds a nice touch. Great idea cutting out the window as well.

As far as what I dabble in...hmmm. I've done so many things throughout the years: oil painting on canvas; acrylic painting on wood; pen and ink; have worked with charcoal and pencils; have done cross stitching, crocheting, and a little knitting; I have even done rug hooking and made some stained glass creations! I'm proud to say that the stained glass window I designed (although I didn't do the actual glass work for that one) for our old church is still up and on display. I know there is more, I just can't remember everything right now.

In the last three years I've moved on to card making and digital design. Hmmm...there are so many things I'd like to try. If I could ever find the time, I'd love to learn how to create more elaborately shaped cards with multiple folds. Design wise, I wish I had the opportunity to do more work from scratch as opposed to relying on overlays. Maybe one day in the future the time Gods will look down on me and show some mercy!

Now I better go before Blogger no longer accepts the length of this comment!

Hugs,
Lisa

I like the 3 D effect on your card. I dabble so to speak in all kinds of card making, scrap booking, and painting in oils or watercolor. I am just now learning shabby chic. I just don't understand steam punk at all. I would like to learn more about personal journals. Edwina Brown

I totally LOVE this creation. Have you ever heard a rap (yeah, musical hip hop rap) about the Raven? it's actually pretty cool. There's this whole genre of music called nerd core which is rappers who are highly educated and rap about just surprisingly intelligent things (like Poe...)

The Raven was done by MC Lars.

beautiful dimension Pat! love your originality always. for what i have tried, i live so completely in the present moment, for better or worse, my art and creativity is so in the present, what i have done in the past seems to take on irrelevancy for me, until it resurges again - if that makes sense, then it is all that is important to me once again and all that i seem to be able to do to any depth of efficiency...
