Using Die-Cuts at Ike's World Challenge Blog

Hallo, mein Lieblings! I don't know if you've noticed that lately I've been creating some cards in German. My sister lives in Berlin with her husband and I thought it would be nice if she had some handmade cards to give to her new friends and neighbors.
That's why I created this children's birthday card using a digi image from Ike's Art Store called Teddy Bear from the Germany - World Tour Series Set. After coloring Sigmund (my name for him, nicknamed Ziggy) with Copics, I adhered him onto my card with dimensional tape, framing him with a die-cut circle of stars. In the corner I placed a die-cut tag on which I popped a flower. I also used a couple punches to get my heart and butterfly embellishments. Behind the watermark are the words  "Alles gute zum Geburtstag" which loosely translated mean Happy Birthday!!
Since this is my DT make for Ike's Art World Challenge Blog, you've probably guessed that the optional theme this month is DIE-CUTS. I think I have enough of them, don't you? LOL
I'm taking German classes at the local community college, and am now in German 102. We're spending almost the entire semester on present participle and simple past tense (both ways to say you did something). If you want a quick and easy language to learn, do NOT take German. LOL It is difficult and I have had to tell the professor when I enter the classroom that "Ich habe ein kopfschmerzen" many times (I have a headache!).
Back to the challenge: It's Anything Goes with the option to create with Die-cuts. It doesn't have to be cards but any kind of project. So poke your Muse and get crafty. The winner gets a gift certificate to Ike's Art Store!! Just don't forget to link up your project there before the end of the month!
Have fun and happy crafting!

Inspired while on the Path of Positivity

What inspires you to  create? Is it the list of challenges on Paper Play? A new image from your favorite store? A favorite quote, a catchy tune or something someone says to you in passing?
When I started crafting, I met a great woman online who inspired me to explore more than I was doing at the time. My style exploded, my techniques expanded and suddenly my comfort zone had no boundaries.

Her name is Holley Barnhart, and if not for a brilliant surgeon, she would not be around to share and inspire anyone, let alone me! So once a year she celebrates her "new life" with a blog bonanza. I am so happy for her, and so happy that she is in my life. Thank you Holley.

The Path of Positivity is always pointing the way toward positivity, acknowledgment and encouragement. This month's optional theme at the challenge blog is INSPIRATION. What better way to feature this theme than by using a unique, limited image from Ike's Art called "Holley's Brain."

I created a mixed media canvas with whatever I could find in my scrap pile that I felt matched Holley's personality and soul. Then I took a picture of it and mailed it to her as a thank you for helping me become the artist that I am today.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes at the Path of Positivity, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Prizes this month include:

A $15 gift certificate from Ike's Art, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

A Blooming Challenge at Scribbles Design Challenge Blog

Scribbles Designs challenge blog wants to know "how your garden grows." This is an open-ended challenge (vegetables, herbs, flowers, weeds? LOL).
I got to play with a Scribbles Designs’ digi image called Heart Tulips.
After designing my card, I framed it with Decosse's Dynamite Doodles' Glitterati Paper Kit in Blue
Elements used in my digital card are:
Pixel Scrapper Janet Scott’s Winter Woodland Wood Journal Card & Reflections of Strength Blue Pearl; Pixel Scrapper Amanda Brown’s Waiting to Bloom Flower; Pixel Scrapper Sharon Reid’s Shine Teal & Gold Butterfly.
The font I used is called Leathery Soft.
Any type of projects are welcome at Scribbles Designs challenge blog as long as you follow the theme. Let's see what grows in your garden this fortnight!

Loads of Fun at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

I am having such fun as Guest DT member at Scribbles Designs challenge blog this month. Today I created an easel card using both image and sentiment from Scribbles Designs.
The image is called Champagne Glasses and it is showcased on the front of my card. I love the sentiment on the inside, as I always seem to have an urge to jump onto a table and dance after sipping (a bottle of) champagne. Yes, I am that woman with the lampshade on her head, free from most inhibitions when I imbibe the bubbly! LOL And that is why you rarely see me imbibing!!
However, the card with its black and white patterned paper and beautiful images makes a great wedding or anniversary card. p.s. Don't you just love the sentiment I placed on the inner face of my card? Have you ever felt that kind of kiss? I have, and still do, with my hubby of almost 40 years. I am a lucky woman in many ways!

Meanwhile, hop on over to Scribbles Designs challenge blog for some amazing inspiration. Grab some images at Scribbles Store. Create with this month's theme and you have a chance at winning some awesome prizes.
Happy crafting!

Holding My Friends Close to My Heart

Today is the start of a new challenge at the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenges. Our generous sponsor is Teresa Arsenault of Tickell Expressions. If you've been playing along with the progressive challenges, you will receive this image in a couple days. If not, what are you waiting for?! LOL
I am an avid paper-ripper, so I created my card's background from leftover pieces of papers in my stash. After coloring my image with Copics, I framed her and popped her onto my card. A simple bow and embossed sentiment finish off my card. This is MY idea of a CAS card. LOL
If you'd like to join in the fun, hop on over to the Outlawz Progressive Freebie challenges. We could all use more inspiration! And as always, crafters, have fun!

Limited Edition

Hello, my crafty peeps! I've been very busy in my craft room this week. Today I have a card for a very special girl. She has matured into a trailblazer, making her own path for others to follow if they wish. She is special, and I'm proud to call her my daughter.
I colored a Kenny K digi image called Kitty Katastrophe. I colored her with my trusty Copics, then fussy-cut her to pop onto my card front. I gave her some shimmer in her hair, because when she chases her dreams, her face lights up with determination and anticipation. The butterfly symbolizes the wings she has found, and the lacy heart doily shows that I have her back. She is one of a kind, and I love her.
Challenges I am entering:
Kenny K's Challenge blog - "I am Special"
the Path of Positivity Challenges - Uniqueness
Cute Card Thursday - Colorful
Creative Knockouts - Lots of Embellies
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Scrapping4Fun Challenges - All about Love
