Use a Christmas Sentiment at the Outlawz Greetings Challenge This Week

Welcome to another opportunity to add to your Christmas card stash. The Outlawz Monday Greetings has a new challenge, asking crafter to create a card with a Christmas Sentiment. My card is a Clean And Simple (CAS) one, showcasing a sentiment stamp from Eureka Stamps, one of two sponsors this week.
The image is called Peace on Earth. After coloring the sentiment with Copics, I used Photoshop to finish off my card, then printed it before popping it onto cardstock. Digital resources include (from) Pixel Scrappers.com: Janet Scott, Sheila Reid, Pauline Thompson & Dream4ever Designs.
********************
The Outlawz Greetings is also being sponsored by The East Wind, whose image, Baby It's Cold Outside, is featured on my card below.

I created this card using the never-ending stash I seem to have built up over the years. I swear, I will continue to ruthlessly clean out my craft room and use up my stash! I have no business stepping into a craft store except for adhesives.
So, get ahead on your own Christmas card stash and get in line to win free digis from Eureka Stamps and the East Wind!

Button, Button, the Outlawz Needs a Button

Happy Monday, crafters! It's a new week, and a new challenge at the Outlawz Monday Greetings, and Rick St Dennis is this week's guest sponsor. I got to play with this awesome digi image called Morning on Valhalla, featuring a favorite character of mine, Morning Goddess.
I snagged a metal art piece at my local thrift store and distressed it by sanding the edges and inking them. After coloring my image with Copics, I framed it with a paper doily before standing it up against the pole holding my sentiment. I re-colored the "O" in LOVE and framed it with a paper doily as well., adding a button to the center of the flower. I added some bunting on the base of my art, then threw some flowers at my Goddess' feet.
This year, hubby and I celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary! I know, I can't believe it either! LOL I used my Pan pastels to color up the number 40 and hung it onto my piece with a couple more buttons. It's my anniversary present for him and I hope he likes it. (After 40 years, it gets mighty difficult to figure out what to get him)
I hope you check out Rick's Shop to see all the amazing images he has to offer. And don't forget to link up your card or project, using at least one button, of course, at the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge.
Happy Crafting!

Anything Goes at the Ourlawz Monday Greetings Challenge Blog

Time for another challenge at the Outlawz Monday Greetings group. This week's theme is ANYTHING GOES. I decided to continue creating pages for my desk calendar, using a digi image from this week's sponsor, Di's Digi Stamps. The image is called Snowbabes Sleigh Ride, and my sentiment wishes everyone who comes into my office some :Winter Wishes."
Because each page of my four-sided calendar is nestled in between two pieces of clear acrylic, they must be CAS, but just because something isn't chunky doesn't mean it has to be plain. I embellished with die-cut snowflakes and tiny jewels to give it some shimmer.
Now that I think of it, I should be making 2016 calendar pages, but then I couldn't show it off at work yet! I also need to put some pens and pencils in the open center, so it's not only pretty but useful.
Anyway, the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge is open through next Sunday evening, so stop by for some inspiration and don't forget to link up your ANYTHING GOES project for a chance to win prizes from or sponsor.

Christmas in Two Colors! New Challenge at the Outlawz Monday Greetings!

Time for a new challenge at the Outlawz Mondays Greetings blog, and the theme this week is Christmas in 2 Colors. I went with the traditional colors of the holiday, Red & Green. My image is called Stardust Enchantress. After coloring her with Copics, I added some shimmer with metallic gel pens and framed her. This pretty little Winter image is from this week's sponsor, LACY SUNSHINE.
My card base is from a pack of plain Christmas cards from the local thrift store for 50 cents. The only thing good about them is the greeting inside, so they make a great base for my handmade cards. To give it more color, I inked the edges before popping on a festive paint strip in shades of green. I hid the unpainted strips with pieces of leftover Christmas ribbon.
I embellished simply with glittered snowflakes that look enough like stars to me; a small ribbon bow, and a mid-sized flower just because!
You have one week to create and link up with the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge. Let's see what you can create for Christmas in just two colors!! And as always, crafters, have fun!!

Happy New Year from the Outlawz

Getting ready to start a new art journal for the New Year. It's out with the old and in with the new! I'll be trying new techniques, using new media and generally learning and soaking up inspiration wherever and whenever it appears.
So of course I had to embellish my new journal to start the inspirational juices flowing. I adhered a strip of metallic ribbon down the center before adding a Copic-colored digi image from one of my new fave companies, Aurora Wings. Isn't she adorable? She's called Mistletoe Fairy and I had fun playing with the shades of green I used for her hair.
I added some flourishes and pearls to the cover after adhering a spray of flowers and a clock sticker (time flies when you're creating). Of course, my sentiment bows its hat to the coming new year: "Out with the Old, In with the New." Every project entered into the Outlawz Greetings Challenge needs to have a sentiment.
Speaking of which, the new challenge this week is Happy New Year! So my project fits in perfectly! You don't have to make cards for the Greeetings challenge at the Outlawz, but your project does need a sentiment. This week our sponsor is Aurora Wings--I just might have to go to her store before the old year winds down!
Kick off 2015 with a fun challenge at the Outlawz!! Other challenges I am entering:

Thank You for Your Service

What better way to say thank you to our nation's servicemen and women than by crafting and sending them a Thank You card? That's what the Outlawz Greetings Challenge is this week-to make a Veteran's Day or Thank You card for a veteran. BEANSIE DOODLES is one of this month's Greetings sponsors.
                                                       http://api.ning.com/files/zdyFMqJvbXJkwSkYfT*pzHxcioNyGh-xEMqPRfF*IRX8i9ZZIwR*vzGhVE8*uyH5PjdvRdXmytZfAKm13jSTFsMZ*LooOXUH/BeansieDoodlesButton.jpg
I am one of those few people who love a good pun, so when I saw this image, I had to create with it. She's called Volleyball Rebekah by BEANSIE DOODLES. I thought she would be great with my sentiment. If you don't know anything about volleyball, the pun will go right over your head - LOL there's another one!
BEANSIE DOODLES is one of this month's Greetings sponsors.
I like to color block with my cards, and had some leftover Autumn patterned papers that I blocked together for my 6x6 card. A bit of leftover ribbon (2 points for de-stashing), a couple of stars, and my card is finished.
My family holds a lot of service in its history. My great uncles both served in WW2 (Infantry), as did my father-in-law (Navy). I met my husband while we both were posted at Fort Ord, California (ARMY). My sis-in-law joined during Desert Storm, but it was over by the time she was trained. My son is an M.P. in the ARMY Reserves, and it looks like my grandson is gearing up for Basic Training in the Marines.
Even though we know/knew that people supported our efforts, it's always nice to hear about it in the way of letters and cards, so think about sending yours to a Reserve Unit or Recruiting Station near you. They'll be able to ship it out with their next package. And there's always Operation Write Home!

Going in Circles at Outlawz Greetings Challenge

I get such a laugh when I check out what's new at Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.
Take the image with which I created my card today. The image is called Howdy Pilgrim, and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it! Of course, sentiments or captions also set the tone of a card, and I found one on The Quote Garden. It's supposed to be a heart-warming cheer for the pluck of pilgrims, so on my card, with Howdy Pilgrim, it takes on a whole new meaning, doesn't it?
I used patterned paper from  DCWV paper stack, then colored my image with Copics and distress inks from Tim Holtz. Since this week's Outlawz Greetings Challenge is to incorporate CIRCLES on your card, I added a few buttons and a shiny jewel. The large colorful circle was made by punching out five circles, folding them in half, then adhering them side-by-side, so that when placed on my card, they fan out into a globe of Fall colors.
I hope you play in this week's challenge at the Outlawz!! Show us how we send you "round & round" in your crafting time!!

Thank You Theme at Outlawz Greetings Challenge

Have you entered the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge this week? It's all about gratitude, and everyone always needs a few extra Thank You cards! I made mine in my fave color combo of teal and pink, using a Meljen's digi image called Bunny Cupcake. Meljen's just happens to be this week's guest sponsor!!
I used an embossed card front that I distressed to bring out the white core of my card stock. I also used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Patina to color a paper doily. My image is colored with Copics (V000,G000,Y11,YG03,R29) and Spectrum Noir (PL1).
At some point in my crafting life I stamped a whole lotta Thank You's and circle-punched them. Well, the last time I cleaned my craft room I found my stash of these little gems, and popped one on my card after framing it with scallop circle-punched cardstock. A few punched pink hearts finish my card.
I printed up a whole sheet of Meljen's Bunny Cupcake so I think I'll get a headstart on my stash of Thank you cards this week.  How about you? Create a card and enter to win at Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge this week!
