Out with the Old, In with the New at Scribbles Challenge Blog

2016 is almost over! A new year will dawn in days! Looking back on 2016, I realized how fast time flies by. Next year, I plan on making the most of every moment. I have things to do and places to go. My time with my husband is limited and my mom is feeling her age. I want to spend quality time with each. My sister lives inn Germany with her new husband and I want to visit them at home, speaking and being comfortable in the German language. I have been very blessed and want to give back. In order to do all this and more (publish my book, learn to play the ukelele,..I need to make the time to take care of myself. Meditation, yoga, spin biking, eating healthy, etc.
These are all things I am penciling onto my calendar in 2017. And this thinking inspired me to create this mini poster for my DT project for Scribbles Challenge Blog new challenge theme: Out with the Old, In with the New.
I used the digi image Mason Jar from Scribbles Design along with the following:
Papers: Patacake’s Pages’ Rainbow Spin
Elements: PixelScrapper.com Janet Scott’s Tag Template, Reflections of Strength Heart Bunting
and Marisa Lerin’s Quilt Stripe border
Font:  Tall Marker
So, I guess the question is, "How will YOU fill the New Year?" And another one --- What will you create for this month's challenge?  Be sure to link it up for your chance to win free digis! Good luck and Happy New Year!

Christmas Blessing at the Path of Positivity Challenge blog

As the holidays loom nearer, it's always nice to look back on the past year and count your blessings big and small. That's the challenge theme at the Path of Positivity blog. There are two sponsors this month: Imagine That!

AND
My craft room is still blocked with all the construction going on in my house, so today I created a digital card using an image from Imagine That! Jars of Cheer Set called Jar with Note cards. The note cards are blank, so I filled them in with some of the things I have been blessed with this year.
My digital card is created from the following:
Image: Imagine That! “Jars of Cheer” w/Blank Notes
Papers: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles “Heartland” Glitter Hearts Patterned Paper
Elements: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles “Heartland” Blue Brads & Tree 2; Pixel Scrapper Janet Scott’s Nutcracker Elements Snowflake 1.
Sentiment: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles Ornate Blessings
This Christmas is a lean one for my family - that is, if you count wrapped presents under the tree. But considering that we have a house, cars, healthcare, heat, food, family and friends, then I can truly say that we are blessed with a bountiful holiday this year!!
So what blessings have you received this year? A baby, a new home, a pay raise? Create something with those blessings in mind and link up at the Path of Positivity before the end of the month for your chance to win some awesome prizes!
I hope you have a blessed holiday!

12 Months of Christmas Bids You Welcome to the North Pole

I wonder if those at the North Pole are as frantic with to-do lists and deadlines as I am. House is under construction, sleeping in the basement, and contractors say the work "should be" finished by Christmas weekend!! I have overnight guests coming this weekend, and 12 for dinner on Christmas Day. (sigh)
Meanwhile, crafting continues at the 12 Months of Christmas, where the last theme of 2016 is "Welcome to the North Pole." Everyone knows that's the home of the infamous Santa Claus, so anything to do with him and his staff and his grounds is perfect for the theme's challenge.
Since my craft room is blocked off, I created this 100% digital card using:
Image: Limited Runs Santa Head
Papers: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles’ “Welcome to the North Pole” This Way North Pole & Snowfall patterned pprs, Grungy Christmas Blue textured ppr & Glitterati Set Gold glittered ppr
Digital Elements: Decosse’s Dynamite Doodles Text 1 Word art; Pixel Scrappers Melo Vrijhof’s Christmas Day Elements Gold Bow & Gold Deer & Pauline Thompson’s Gold Star Banner
Our sponsors this month are Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and Limited Runs.

The theme of course is optional. If you do follow the optional theme,

Everyone earns a free paper and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $10.00 gift certificate from Limited Runs. Don't forget to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prizes. Happy crafting, and Happy Holidays!!

Ike's World Challenge Blog Offers a Photo Inspiration

How is your month going? Besides the usual scurry to get gifts made and cards out, our house is still under construction. When I talked to the head contractor about a finish date, he said it "should be" finished by next week's end. Doesn't he realize that that is Christmas weekend? And I have a dinner for 12 to get ready and serve, as well as overnight guests?
We are already sleeping in the basement and have the one bathroom, so I can't even offer my son and his family (of six) that space to sleep in. So as you can read, my month is a little stressful! I sure hope yours is going more smoothly than mine.
Meanwhile, life goes on, especially in the crafting world. The challenge theme over at Ike's World Challenge Blog is a photo inspiration:
Choose a color, an element, or the general feel of the photo and create your holiday heart out (although it does NOT have to be a holiday project). I chose to be inspired by the colors, pulling the red, gold and green from it to create with Ike's Art images: My Teddy, The Cat-Mouse Tree, Jar with Holly & Peppermints & I Bopz U. I do like to use multiple images in my projects - do you think I overdid it?
Because of the house situation, my craft room is closed, so I created this 100% digital card which I have printed up on glossy cardstock and mailed to a few friends this month.
If you have time this week, be sure to link up your photo-inspired project to Ike's World Challenge Blog for your chance to win digital images from Ike's Art Store!! And have a wonderful rest of the month, and a merry Christmas!

Count Your Blessings along the Path of Positivity

Welcome to the new challenge at the Path of Positivity. What a year it has been! It seems only fitting that this month's theme is BLESSINGS. I am feeling especially blessed this year. It has been a tough one, with health issues and loss of jobs. But from the ashes of despair come tiny miracles we call blessings, if we look carefully.
My blessings include free health care from the Veteran's Administration, a government grant to pay for rehabbing the house to make it handicap accessible and the free time to take hubby to doctor appointments and support group meetings.
Besides the newest blessings, I have a one year old grandson to add to my brood of five others, and a daughter who plans to stay at home "a little longer" to spend more time together as a family. My circle of friends may be smaller, but those who've stayed are supportive and caring (and I hope it's because I am too).
Most importantly, I am blessed to have been married to my husband of forty years, Bill. I fell in love with his smile and the rest was history!
This month, there are two sponsors - Imagine That!
and also Decosse's Dynamite Doodles (DDD)

I used Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, and my print today includes the following:
Papers: DDD Toast to the New Year, Bring in the New Year Kit, Grungy Christmas Green Textured paper, Mommie Dearest Green Textured paper
Elements: DDD Mommie Dearest Doily 2 & Bow 2; The Grab Bag Kit 1 Flower 6 & Leaf Spray; Heartland Mini Kit Green Brad
Quote: Donna Hedges, found on www.quotegarden.com
Font: Leathery Soft
I love the sentiment, and this will go up in my living room, once the house is mine again and the construction is finished. It's good to remember our blessings, but more important to acknowledge them, don't you think?
Now it's your turn to create with the theme of Blessings as your Muse. You have until January 1st to link up for your chance to win some awesome prizes from our sponsors:

SPONSOR & PRIZE INFORMATION:

  • EITHER the Holiday Hoopla Digital Scrapbooking Kit OR five different mini kits (of six papers each) from the Christmas and/or Winter section from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles, one of our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch.
  • A $10.00 gift certificate from Imagine That! Digistamp, one of our guest sponsors this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.

There will also be:
  • A small selection of digital designer papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for one lucky person who leaves a comment on posts published during the challenge time frame.
  • One digital sentiment for every single person who enters the challenge.

Happy Holidays at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

Happy Holidays!! This is the merry theme over at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog, and I have created a Christmas card for some crafty inspiration. I used Woodland Santa from Scribbles. These last couple of weeks have been difficult to do some hand-crafting. Our house is under construction and my craft room is impenetrable. Most of our and our daughter's bedroom items were thrown in there haphazardly and I can't even see my craft table!
So my card is digitally created using the following:
Scribbles Designs: Woodland Santa
Papers: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Colors of the Rainbow Red; 12 Months of Christmas Papers 2014 Tinsel Diagonals. Marta Van Eck's Winter Scenery Papers, #9
Elements: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Mommie Dearest Elements Bow 3 (red); PixelScrappers Janet Scott’s Nutcracker Gold Brooch Bow & Mandy’s Lovable Designs’ Classic Christmas Pine Branch
Word Art: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles "Believe"
Whether you are a paper-crafter or a digital artist, craft with all your heart. Then link up your card or project at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog for your chance to win free Scribbles images.

Starting Dec. 20th, Scribbles Designs will begin a Five Day Countdown to Christmas. Readers will have a chance to join in to win some digi images, get a great discount and grab a limited time freebie.
