Anything Goes w/optional twist - Use a bow

The newest challenge at Ike's World Challenge blog has reached its midway point. Their challenges are now Anything Goes, with some months offering a Twist. This month the Twist is to Use a BOW. I created my card with an image from Ike's Store called Spanish Dancer. I love this image because my cousin dances with a Spanish Dance Company, and she also teaches Flamenco classes.
My card has a surprise in that the image is part of a removable bookmark. My family and I love to read, and we're always losing our bookmarks, so demand is high. Mine folds over the top of a page. My bow  is actually a glitter sticker at the top.
My sentiment reads, "Everything in the universe has rhythm. Everything dances. I'll talk more about that in the next challenge for Ike's World Challenge Blog. Meanwhile, share your art with us for your chance to win free digis from Ike's Art store.
Happy crafting!

Anything Goes w/OPTIONAL Theme of "The Road Ahead"

Welcome to a brand New Year. With this beginning come changes, like at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. This year every month is ANYTHING Positive or Affirming GOES, sometimes with an Optional theme. To start the New Year off, the first challenge has the OPTIONAL theme of "The Road Ahead."
There are two sponsors in January - Scribbles Designs
AND
Today I created a digital card using Scribbles Designs images: #953 Pull Trailer, Carl & Sun (freebie). I colored the image and squeezed photos of my grandchildren into the windows (the car is free clipart). Then I popped the whole thing onto scenic paper. Scribbles image "Carl" is hitching a ride on the wheel bumper, and Scribbles image "Sun" gives the effect of both a cloudy day and a sunny one.
That's what life is full of, both cloudy days and sunny ones. How we spend those days will predict whether this new year is one filled with happy memories and fun adventures, or "just another trip around the sun." I hope your New Year is filled with happiness!!
Card created with:
Scribbles digital images: #953 Pull Trailer, Carl & Sun
Papers from: Pixel Scrapper Brooke Gazarek's Enchanted Green and Doll House Krysty's Scrap Designs Scenic Paper 8
Element: Pixel Scrapper Karry Dempsey's Dirty McFilthy Flower 3
Font: Draughtsman & LD Handwritten Greetings
I hope you'll choose the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog to create and link up a card or project this month.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature.

Please click HERE or scroll down to find it.

What a year 2016 has been! Changes in my personal life, my work life, my family life...political drama and economic upheaval...
I am certainly glad to close the curtain on the last 12 months and focus on the new year. If you are, too, then the best place to start your year off is at the 12 Months of Christmas Blog. You can keep that fuzzy warm holiday feeling while starting on your Christmas cards for Christmas, 2017.
This month the optional theme is "Out with the Old, In with the New." I say optional, but IF you choose to create a holiday card with the theme in mind, don't forget to put the letters FT by your name and you'll have a chance to win a gift certificate to our January sponsor's Store, Ike's Art.
My craft room is still being held captive by the contractors, so I created this digital card using an image from Ike's Art called "  ".
My OLD in this card were all the papers & elements from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles & Pixel Scrappers.
My NEW in this card is the digital image from Ike's Art.

A lot of digital goodies went into my card.
Papers: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles- A Touch of Summer Sunburst & Waves; Grungy Christmas Burgundy Textured paper; Glitterati Gold Glitter paper; An Eclectic Christmas-Gold & Silver Diagonals patterned paper.

Vintage or Modern at Ike's World Challenge Blog

Welcome to 2017! The newest challenge over at Ike's World Challenge Blog is Anything Goes with a Twist. The twist is to create in a vintage or modern style. I chose to play with Vintage and since my craft room is still being held captive by the contractors, I colored (a little too brightly) my image digitally. Ooh, my fingers are itching to get to my craft supplies and color my heart out. Soon, very soon...
Meanwhile, I colored Ooh La La image and popped her onto some scenery paper from Marta Van Eck at Mischief Circus, and then had my way with all the lovely digital elements in my library. Image:  Ike's Art Ooh La La
Papers: Marta van Eck Cabinet of Curiosity #7, PixelScrapper Marisa Lerin Yesteryear Paper1.
Elements: Pixel Scrappers Melo Vrijhof Our Special Day Pearls 4, Christmas Day Gold Sequin Ribbon. All the Princesses Porcelain Rose 1; Janet Scott A Mother’s Love Cream Lace & Life in Full Bloom Painted Branch; Karry Dempsey Cracks Booms & Dots Flower 3 & Dirty McFilthy Vine 1; Pauline Thompson SLSB Ribbon 1 & Eroded Hues Glitter; Sharon Grant Fall Beach Vacation embellishment 4; Sheila Reid Little Green Leaf
Font: El Capitan
My sentiment reads:  "The most beautiful makeup of a woman is Passion, but Cosmetics are easier to buy," a quote from Ives St. Laurant.
What's your style this week? Vintage or Modern? Whatever you create, please share it with us at Ike's World Challenges for your chance to win free digis. Ike offers free images with every new challenge post!! If you use one of them, your card or project counts for two entries in the drawing for a gift certificate to Ike's Store!
See you there!

Looking Ahead on the Path of Positivity

Today my card features a digital image from Ike's Art called "Gene & Fred," after the famous dancers Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. I write digital because my craft room is still barred from entrance. Once the contractors are finished, I can finally get into my room and do some hand-crafting, and mixed media canvases, some water colors and altered art - ooh, I can't wait! LOL
I love this image because it can men so many different things. Because we are embarking on a brand new year, I got to thinking about how I will go down my path in 2017. So many choices to make, some shortcuts, and some just looking like shortcuts but aren't. Some people seize each day, learning, laughing, loving. Then there are those who are,
"Dancing through life
Skimming the surface,
Gliding where turf is smooth..."
(-from the song Dancing through Life, Wicked Broadway play)

Hubby's time with me is limited, mom is getting older, daughter is saving her well-earned money for her own place, and the grandkids are growing like beanstalks! I don't want to miss any of that. So I will grab life by the horns, live in each moment, and appreciate where I'm going and all the stops along the way.
My card is my DT make for the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.
The following went into creating this card:
Papers: Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Sunburst from A Taste of Summer Patterned papers, Burgundy paper from A Grungy Christmas Textured papers; Pixel Scrapper B White's Back to Nature Paper 6 and patterned paper 2.
Elements: Pixel Scrapper Sheila Reid's Outdoor Adventure Compass Rose Stamp & Yellow Polka-dot Grunge Paint, Marisa Lerin's Doodle Set Brush 4, E Minkus' Back to Nature Element 7
Font: Kismet

This year every month is ANYTHING Positive or Affirming GOES, sometimes with an Optional theme. To start the New Year off, the first challenge has the OPTIONAL theme of "The Road Ahead."
There are two sponsors in January - Scribbles Designs
AND

Prizes offered:
In order to be considered eligible for this month's sponsor prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature.
If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize for Most Inspirational.
From Ike's Art, a $15 gift certificate from Ike's Art
From Scribbles Designs, a $10 gift certificate from Scribbles Designs
From Creative Bug Digital SnapShots, one digital image for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
I hope you'll choose the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog to create and link up a card or project this month. Anything positive or affirming is welcome!

Ring Out the Old, Ring in the New at Scribbles Challenge Blog

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Today at Scribbles Challenge blog, we are working at "Ringing OUT the Old and Ringing in the NEW." There is a great poem by Alfred Tennyson that reads,
“Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.”
There are several key words in this poem that can help provide a starting point for your creation: ring, old, new, happy, bells, snow, year, false, true.  How you interpret them is up to you. For example, you might choose to use something old or something new in your project; or be literal and include bells or snow; maybe you'll focus on the word happy and take your creation in that direction; or maybe you will design a card that reflects something new like new year's or a new baby, a new home, etc.
My card is inspired by SNOW, so I used two images from Scribbles Designs: "Melting for You Sentiment" and "Snowflake." I made the sentiment the focal point of my card, placing it onto Pixel Scrapper Brooke Gazarek" Enchanted Dark Teal Patterned Paper decorated with a few Scribbles' Snowflakes.  I took a strip of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Snowfest patterned paper to create a ribbon effect and that finishes the card.
My husband's birthday is later this month, so I made this card for him. Every year I tease him that from his birthday until mine, April 15th, he is TWO years older than I. So I guess that uses the "OLD" part of this month's theme LOL (but don't tell him I said that!)
Come join us at Scribbles as we Ring out the Old Year and Ring in the New. If you use a Scribbles image your chances of winning free digis doubles!!
